3. PAPERCRETE
 What is papercrete
 This is recently developed material. It is
made with repulped paper-fiber with a
combination of portland cement and or clay.
 This type of material is considered
environmental friendly material.
 It was discovered by Eric patterson and Mike
McCain.

4. PROPERTIES
 Papercrete provides good insulation
 R-value is about 2.0 and 3.0 per inch
 Lightweight
 Its mold resistant material and can be used
as a sound-proofing material.
 It is dimensionally very stable.
 The more cement and mineral material is
used the more fire proof it becomes.

 To make blocks for building and wall of a
houses.
 It can be molded into countless shapes and
allowed to cure hard.
 It can be poured into large, shallow forms to
make panels.
 It can be used to cover walls(plaster), make
partitions, make boxes, etc.

8. WHY MAKE PAPERCRETE
 Inexpensive - A block 12" by 8" by 5" can be made
for 15 cents or less, depending on the amount of
cement used.
 Strong - Papercrete and fibrous adobe are extremely
strong, due to the presence of millions of fibers.
 Lightweight - A block as above weighs only 3.5 lbs.
 Insulating - Papercrete has so much dead air space
that it makes an excellent insulator. A Papercrete wall

materials where you will use them.

 Firstly make pulp of paper using water with
the help of stuccor.

 Soak newspaper for minimum 24 hours.
 Add 15 gallon wet paper in galvanized
tub.
 Mix and add water until slurry is
