Pangkor Laut?
How was your experience?
Kaki Cuti Cuti Malaysia answers:
Yeah..i’ve been to Pangkor Laut Resort few years back and the experience was absolutely
fantastic!
Stayed in their lovely sea villas, the room was marvellous and the view from the room is
overlooking the sea and it was indeed romantically lovely..we had enjoyed the peacefulness in
this place..the spa is a must try for couples..the food served is equally lovely and delicious..we
took the full board package and so it include daily breakfast, lunch, dinner and free flow of
beverages!!..
Anyway, overall, when you stay here you will not regret spending your money here and its really
worth it..you are much appreciated if you just dont bring kids under 12 years old coz it will
somehow jepordize that special moments while in Pangkor laut…

Hi…
Not sure what you are looking for but you may want to write about the real estate options in this
area. Check www.pulau-pangkor.com for some ideas.
I know for a fact that some foreigners are interested in the Malaysia My 2nd homeprogram and
have the intention to buy either land or houses.
Might give you a start

Hi All. How do I go to Pangkor Laut in Malaysia from Singapore?
How much would it cost? Thank you!?
Kaki Cuti Cuti Malaysia answers:
GETTING TO PANGKOR LAUT
Pangkor Laut sits just to the west of the larger Pangkor Island – itself just west of Malaysia’s
Perak state. To get there, just take a ferry terminal from the bustling port town of Lumut.
You should put aside a good eight hours to drive from Singapore to Lumut, talking into account
any jams on the North South Highway.
From the Tuas checkpoint follow the E2 Expresssway, heading for KL. You will pass such signs
as: Kulai, Machap, Pagoh, Ayer Keroh and Port Dickson. You turn off at the junction for Nilai,
well before Malaysia’s capital and continue on the E2, following signs for Cyberjaya and Shah
Alam. You are now on the E6, bypassing KL. Don’t head for Shah Alam though – drive back on
to the E1 (towards Bukit Lanjan and Rawang). You pass Bukit Beruntung, Tanjung Malim, Slim
River and Sungkai before reaching your turn-off at the Bidor junction.
From Bidor, travelling across country to Lumut is where it can get tricky. The initial part of this
country road (58) that takes you through Changkat Jong and Teluk Intan and dutifully branches
off into many roads and junctions with traffic lights, and no road signs… Be prepared to stop
(several times) and ask the locals to point. The idea is to hit route 5, heading north and all the

4. way to Sitiawan on route 18 and finally. Lumut. This last section of the journey is picturesque
but also potentially confusing. Don’t be afraid to ask where you are.
Near the jetty at Lumut is a guarded car park that costs a very reasonable 10RM per 24 hours
stay. The Pangkor Laut tourism office can direct you there if you are uncertain.
The ferry takes around 45 minutes from Lumut to Pangkor Laut resort and leaves 3 times a day
at 8am, 11am, 2pm and 5pm. Be prepared to sweat though -the ferry aircon was not operating
too well, which is a surprise for such a luxury package.
The super-rich can opt to take a speedboat across, but at RM500 for this service (one way…)
you may however want to consider what other goodies and spa treatments you could spend this
amount of money on once you arrive at your destination.
The cost however is varies and depends on your mode of travelling..
BY CAR : Spend of about MYR150.00- MYR200.00 for petrol and highway tols
BY BUS : Take transtar coach from Singapore arrive in Kuala Lumpur , estimated at
SGD$40.00/person onwards then from Kuala Lumpur via Puduraya take another express coach
to Lumut, Pangkor, estimated at MYR30.00/person. Then from Lumut on board Ferry to
Pangkor Laut. Schedule From Lumut to Pangkor Laut 0800 hrs 0900 hrs 1100 hrs 1200 hrs
1400 hrs 1500 hrs 1700 hrs 1800 hrs Cost per person per one-way – Adult: RM50.00 – Child:
RM25.00

facilities? which type of room should i stay in? i dont mind spending but not to the extend to
really splurge on all of my cash! how about food over at this place?
2) is there any island tour or pangkor tour that i can book? any website link?
3) Do i need to produce any id to rent car over at this island?
4) is there any good clubs or bars in this island? where?
5) what should i do over this island..in consideration of having 2 kids along..?
6) again..should i stay in Pangkor Island beach or in Pangkor Laut Resort..again..considering
the kids as well..will they be enjoying the place?
Thanks and really appreciate your reply

You might be provided with some informative website, but here are my own experience in
Pangkor Island :
[1] Pangkor Island Resort [ PKR ] is a very nice place to stay and with its private beach, you will
not see or mix with others non-resort visitors [ a little privacy ]. Of course seaview room is the
best ! PKR do serve all kind of local and western food but you may wanted to try out the small
eatery [ especially local delicacy and seafood ] whenever you are out on sight seeing, it would
be many times cheaper than resort’s food !
[2] Get PKR to arrange those island tour for you when you are there, advance booking not
necessary !
[3] I don’t think there is any car available for rent except those pink colour taxi [ van actually ],
but you may wanted to try the motorbike if you know how to ride [ make sure you put-on your
5/7
6. helmet ] which cost not more than RM35.00 for 24 hours rental !
[4] PKR do has its own club and bar, outside ……very few and small scale type and may not suit
you !
[5] if you are not enjoying the sea [ swim/snorkeling ] , hire a taxi for island tour then the next
day use bike to further explore the island on your own pace since you already know a little
about the island by now !
[6] PKR is on Pangkor Island and Pangkor Laut Resort is on it own island hence much more
privacy, no mixing around with local or outsider except resort’s guest. PKR should be the better
choice !
I have been to Pangkor Island many many times since my school day. As for PLR, there was
my honeymoon paradise almost 20 years ago !
Happy holiday !
