- Staying in Johor Bahru can be cheaper for accommodations but the time and costs of transportation between the two locations each day needs to be considered.

Joseph asks…
what is the fastest way to go to Johor Bahru from Singapore and
vice versa?
because i am considering to stay in Johor Bahru at night so hotels will be cheaper and then
tour singapore during the day. is this a good idea or too tiring and stressful?
Kaki Cuti Cuti Malaysia answers:
It depends on your mode of travelling and when you plan to travel. The Woodlands checkpoint
is always having a perpetual traffic jam especially during peak hours or weekends.
The best bet is to stay at Hotel 81 or budget hotels in Singapore and tour Singapore from there.
Hotel prices ranges from SGD 60 – 130++ for those budget hotels.
If you still want to choose to stay in JB, consider the time wasted for travelling, your travel fares
be it taxi / public bus and the hassle of going thru immigration. It may just add up to the same
amount. JB is reputed to have a high crime rate, so it is a little dangerous to travel back there at
night especially if you’re a tourist and do not know your way around.
Hope this helps. Cheers!

Where can I purchase Cadbury Cocoa Powder(imported) in either
singapore or johor bahru exactly?
Im sort of in a rush to buy thhis cocoa powder, and I could not locate it from googling. I need to
buy this instantly, and was wondering if anybody out there know where exactly can I purchase
Cadbury Cocoa Powder, either in Singapore or Johor Bahru, becoz I need it fast. And actually

I’m not sure I can help you get this in a hurry but I can suggest looking of this sort of thing on
eBay as many English people have started exporting things like this to ex-pats (:

4. and how long does it take if we take car?
Kaki Cuti Cuti Malaysia answers:
Please s do not listen to Rob adv. With the new causeway u walk to Singapore, u will be caught
and fine. The old causeway yes that can be done.
If u r alone, just go to Larkin and take bus no 170. It will stop at Kranji Mrt Station.
Altenatively,u can take bus no 950 from kota raya. It will stop at Woodlands Causeway Point.
If u r travel in a group of 4, u can take a cab near City Plaza. The cab will send you to anywhere
u want to go in Singapore. Cost per person will be $12 sgd. Which u still can bargain.
If u want to take a cab alone, u have to wait for another 3 passengers else you have to rent the
whole car in case of emergency. U hv to pay for the fare of another 3 persons..
U can also take a cab at Larkin.
Alternatively u can take a cab nearby kota raya bus terminal..(walking distance) If u want to go
to the east side of Singapore, taking the cab from there will be cheaper. Maybe now is $8sgd
per person.
The cab will stop at Queen Street.if u are alone, if u rent the whole cab, it will drop u where u
want b4 u reach Queen Street.
My personally adv, is for you to take a bus 170 from larkin, or 950 from
Kota Raya. The risk of sharing a cab with people u dont know is very high.. If they bring in illegal
items like cigarates /drugs and so on. You will spend the whole day at the custom trying to proof
that the stuff don’t belong to u.
Frankly speaking the taxi driver likes to do such a thing and then when caught he will deny that
the illegal stuffs belong to him. If u are a smoker dont try to bring any cigarettes into Singapore
even for your own consumption. The fine is 500SGD per stick.
Hope this info will help if u r a first time visitor to Singapore. No drugs please.

I’m residing at Singapore, is Johor Bahru worth a weekend visit?
My friend and I…(2girls) are planning to visit JB for Chinese New Year. This will be our first time
to visit Malaysia. Please give us tips and guidelines on what to expect in JB. Is it really
dangerous there for tourists? Thanks.
Kaki Cuti Cuti Malaysia answers:
Hye im azleen and im from malaysia.first of all welcome to malaysia. No, its not dangerous for
tourist.i read another person’s answer and it said not to go to jb because the crime rates are
high well, then why are people still going to thailand(no offense) when the situation there is
pretty bad too.so it is safe in jb.if anything happens then i guess luck was not with you..plus
many singaporeans go to jb to buy their weekly groceries.
Well there is alot of shopping complex in jb.but i dont really recommend buying branded good is
malaysia..i think its cheaper in singapore.eemm..since its chinese new year so i guess there will
be a celebration.
If u want to do some site seeing well there are some museum and an old chinese temple.if u are
a nature lover, you can go to the endau rompin national park.its pretty cool there.
If u want to try local food then i’ll suggest you eat in mamak stalls.you can eat at hotels and
restaurant but to feel and know malaysia you have to try eating at mamak stalls.the nasi briyani
is ggod too..
I think you can move around easily because there are taxi and buses..so it wont really be a
problem.there are alot of hotels there too.plus most people can speak english…so not to worry
baout communication.
Well i guess thats all..hope i help you abit.but the importnt thing is to keep your things properly
and watch for thieves pocket and watch for your safety anything can happen, not only in
jb..anything can happen all around the world.
