2. THE CRISTO DEL OTERO
The Cristo del Otero is a large sculpture and symbol of the city of Palencia in
Spain, located on a knoll on the outskirts of the city. The sculpture was
designed by Victorio Macho,and it is also where lays his tomb.
• The Christ seems to be in a position to bless the city. It was built in 1931
according to the project of sculptor Victorio Macho.
• It is one of the highest statues of Jesus Christ in the world. At his feet is
carved a chapel (called Santa Maria del Otero) and a small museum with
items by the architect. At the entrance to the chapel is a small terrace and a
gazebo there is the view of the city.

3. PALENCIA CATHEDRAL
• Palencia Cathedral (Catedral de san Antolín) is situated in
Palencia, Spain.
• The cathedral was built from 1321 to 1504 stands over a low
vaulted Visigothic crypt (the Crypt of San Antolín).
• It is a large Gothic building, popularly dubbed as "The unknown
beauty" because not as well known as other Spanish cathedrals,
though, it is a valuable building which has in its interior a large
number of works of art of great value. Its one of the largest
cathedrals in Spain and Europe
• Its exterior solid, simple and austere does not reflect the
grandeur of its interior, with more than twenty chapels of great
artistic and historical interest. The most recognizable on the
outside, is the tower, slim but a little rough, considering your
Gothic style. Recent studies and excavations show that it was a
military tower, and after serving this function were added to
their pinnacles and cattail as the sole decoration.
4. PUENTECILLAS BRIDGE
• This bridge of Roman origin was renovated
in the XV century, which was an important
settlement in the development of road and
commercial networks since the Vaccaei time
until the beginning of the XX century.
Nothing remains of its Roman origin, except
its medieval layout. Romerias and medieval
markets are celebrated at present in this
environment
