Increasing Inductor Lifetime by Predicting Coil Copper Temperatures PresentationFluxtrol Inc.
In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the customer demands for improved induction coil lifetime. This has led to several publications in recent years by induction tooling manufacturers [1-4]. The main conclusion in these papers is that besides mechanical crashes the cause of most induction coil failures is localized overheating of the coil copper due to insufficient cooling.
What is lacking from these publications is any way to determine what is sufficient cooling. In this paper, a scientific method for determining local copper temperatures will be presented. This will include evaluations of heat transfer coefficients for different sections of a multi-component inductor, dependence of heat transfer coefficient on water pressure and water passage cross-section, non-uniform power density distributions in various 2-D cross-sections and the resulting temperature distribution in the copper winding. The effects of duty cycle on optimal design will also be considered.
Balance of System (BOS) of a Solar Project has undergone a significant price reduction but continuous optimisation is making the trend continuing to go further down.
The presentation discusses on aspects around over-loading, cable optimisation, introduction of 1500 V systems and many other interesting optimisations.

A Silicon-to-System Review of Thermo-Mechanical Considerations in Electronics

Thermal and Mechanical challenges to IC package reliability has been addressed with a sufficiently working system of information exchange across a supply chain that spans the foundries to system level assembly plants. The never ending market demand for miniaturization, performance, functionality and cost reduction invariably translates to manufacturing, design, assembly, and reliability challenges to the engineer. Within the Thermal and Mechanical realm these challenges manifest to the engineer in the form of seemingly disconnected problems areas such as BEOL yield, flipchip interconnect reliability, warpage mitigation, heat sink retention design, interface choice, thermally aware board and chassis layout, fan sizing and system level optimization. Evolving technology also introduces newer puzzles such as heterogeneous packaging using 3D ICs. The talk will focus on the tools, methodologies and information exchange protocols used by the thermal management and mechanical reliability professionals across the supply chain to address the various challenges.
The energy required to heat and cool outdoor air and infiltration air is a significant fraction of thermal loads. This project has developed diagnostic procedures to identify air leaks and methods to calculate the savings from air sealing large commercial and institutional buildings. Envelope air sealing could significantly reduce large building energy consumption, but no systematic research has identified the most cost-effective strategies for Minnesota buildings.
Nikki warned that we are increasing global CO2 emissions by 2-3ppm (parts per million) per year and our current emissions are at 411.21ppm. She stressed that with 450ppm being considered commensurate with 2°C, urgent action is needed.
Prof. Furong Li, Director, Centre for Sustainable Power Distribution, University of Bath, opened with an informative discussion entitled ‘From Economy of Scale to Economy of Flexibility – Low Carbon Opportunities’.

Putting the SPARK into Virtual Training.pptxCynthia Clay
This 60-minute webinar, sponsored by Adobe, was delivered for the Training Mag Network. It explored the five elements of SPARK: Storytelling, Purpose, Action, Relationships, and Kudos. Knowing how to tell a well-structured story is key to building long-term memory. Stating a clear purpose that doesn't take away from the discovery learning process is critical. Ensuring that people move from theory to practical application is imperative. Creating strong social learning is the key to commitment and engagement. Validating and affirming participants' comments is the way to create a positive learning environment.

Unveiling the Secrets How Does Generative AI Work.pdfSam H
At its core, generative artificial intelligence relies on the concept of generative models, which serve as engines that churn out entirely new data resembling their training data. It is like a sculptor who has studied so many forms found in nature and then uses this knowledge to create sculptures from his imagination that have never been seen before anywhere else. If taken to cyberspace, gans work almost the same way.

Use this to inform the model
10. 1. Standard DHN/TEG business model does not apply.
2. Establish a workable business model rather than trying to make the
model work.
3. Fundamentals and risks of this model will be dictated by:-
a) The private/corporate heat users.
b) The cost of the infrastructure.
4. To achieve an acceptable ROI will take financial input from Public
and Private sectors.
•
Use a mixture of existing instruments eg:•
Part PFI type for main infrastructure
•
Standard debt for small supply grids within a
neighbourhood/industrial complex
5. Must drive down the capital repayment burden, to
6. Enable short term contracting of TE to work.
