This message gives you strong biblical evidence that helping people make it to heaven is one of the two main reasons God still keeps His beloved children on earth after we get saved.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

3. God take things into his own hands: God God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son. Jesus Anyone who believes in him will not really die, but will have eternal life. John 3:16 Forgiveness, reconciliation, justice, peace, life
4. What did Jesus say first? “ The time has come,” Jesus said. “The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!” The kingdom of God = God is taking charge! Everything will be as God wants it to be. Repent = turn back to God and live! Stop ignoring God, stop doing what displeases God, Believe the good news = allow God to take charge of your life.
5. What did Jesus do first? As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “ Come, follow me ,” Jesus said. When he had gone a little farther, he saw James… and his brother John in a boat, preparing their nets. Without delay he called them, and they… followed him. Mark 1:16-20 What is Jesus doing here?
6.
7. What types of people is Jesus looking for? Blessed are those who are spiritually needy. The kingdom of heaven belongs to them. Blessed are those who are sad. They will be comforted Blessed are those who are free of pride. They will be given the earth. Blessed are those who are hungry and thirsty for what is right. They will be filled.
8. What types of people is Jesus looking for? Blessed are those who show mercy. They will be shown mercy. Blessed are those whose hearts are pure. They will see God. Blessed are those who make peace. They will be called children of God.
9. What types of people is Jesus looking for? Blessed are those who suffer for doing what is right. The kingdom of heaven belongs to them. Blessed are you when people make fun of you and hurt you because of me. Be joyful and be glad. Your reward in heaven in great.
10.
11. He began to teach them: You have been told: Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth. I tell you: Do not fight against an evil person. When people ask you for something, give it to them. You have been told: Love your neighbor; hate your enemy I tell you: Love your enemies. Pray for those who hurt you.
12. He began to teach them: Do not invest in the riches of earth—they lose their value so quickly. Instead, invest in the riches of heaven—they’ll always be there. You cannot serve God and Money at the same time. Don’t worry about food or clothing. If you’re going to worry about anything, worry about serving God and his kingdom. If you don’t want to be judged, don’t you judge others.
13. He began to teach them: 1. When you give to needy people… What relationship is Jesus talking about here? Jesus talks about three of our relationships: “ Don’t announce to everyone what you do for needy people.” Why wouldn’t Jesus want us to do that? Does Jesus expect his disciples to help people who are in need?
14. He began to teach them: 2. When you pray…. What relationship does Jesus have in mind here? “ Don’t pray in front of people so that they can see how religious you are.” Why not? Does Jesus expect his disciples to pray? What is prayer?
15. He began to teach them: What should we pray for? Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us our debts (sins) as we forgive our debtors (those who sin against us). Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. (For yours is the kingdom and the glory and the power forever. Amen.)
16. He began to teach them: 3. When you fast…. What relationship is Jesus thinking about here? What is fasting?
17. He began to teach them: Everyone who hears my words and puts them into practice is like a wise man. He builds his house on the rock. The rain comes down. The water rises. The winds blow and beat against that house, but it does not fall. It is built on the rock.
18. He began to teach them: But everyone who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man. He builds his house on sand. The rain comes down. The water rises. The winds blow and beat against that house. And it falls with a loud crash! The choice is ours.
19. God in Jesus was reconciling the world to himself God Through you all the nations will be blessed. You are the salt of the earth. You are the light of the world. Let your light shine in front of others. Jesus and his followers Forgiveness reconciliation life peace
20. How can we be the followers Jesus wants us to be? The Holy Spirit , whom the Father will send in my name will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. -John 14:26 You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you. Then you will be my witnesses from one end of the earth to the other. -Acts 1:8 Live by the Holy Spirit’s power. The fruit that the Holy Spirit produces is love , joy , peace , patience kindness , goodness , faithfulness , gentleness and self-control . -Galatians 5:16, 22-23
21. Being a follower of Jesus What does Jesus want us to be ? Like him! What might that mean? Where and how can we learn to be like Jesus? With other people, worshiping him, listening to what he said, studying what he did talking to him in prayer
22. Being a follower of Jesus What does Jesus want us to do ? That depends: What are we good at doing? What do we like to do? What Jesus is most interested in is how we can bring his blessings of forgiveness, hope, and reconciliation to people through what we do.
