The SPEER programme implemented an ERP system across the logistical and financial domains of the Dutch Armed Forces over several years from 2005-2014. It involved standardizing processes, migrating to a single SAP system, and reorganizing to support joint operations. Key challenges included the complexity of integrating many processes, organizational changes, and long timeframes. Lessons included managing complexity through a stepwise approach, strong governance, and ensuring business benefits rather than just an IT project.
