HP TRIM Tips—Saved Searches
Save A Search
Save your regularly used search with all search criteria and filtering applied. To save a
search, display the results of a search, then on the Search menu, click Current Search—
Save Search.
Sharing them with others
A user wanted to share the relatively "complex" Saved
Search (also in Favorites) with other people in the
project team. On the "Search" properties they gave
access to everyone to "use", but kept the access to modify
and delete for themselves. They thought that giving "can
use" access to everyone would be enough for everyone to
see and use this search. It wasn’t!
No one could see the search by going to Search - Saved
searches. This was because in the "owner" field, it was the
user that created the search (by default).
Once they deleted themselves as the owner of the search,
and left that field blank, the team could use the search!
Ownership Options
When you create a search, you can specify an “owner.”
These are the options for the Owner field:
Person - only the owner has access to the saved search (it is private).
Blank - everyone has access to the saved search (it is public).
Group - only members of the group have access to the search.
