Orion is one of the most prominent and recognizable constellations in the night sky. It contains some of the brightest stars visible including Rigel, Betelgeuse, and the three stars that make up Orion's belt. The constellation is associated with the Greek myth of the hunter Orion and contains several notable deep sky objects including the Great Orion Nebula, one of the closest regions of massive star formation.
