Original sin comes from Adam and Eve's disobedience in the Garden of Eden. We are all born sinful due to inheriting Adam's sinful nature. God holds us accountable for our sinful nature and behavior, even though we cannot help being born sinners. Sin severely damages our relationship with God, as it causes us to fall short of his perfect standards. However, Jesus came to save sinners and restore our relationship with God through his death and forgiveness of sins.

One of the important themes of the Lord's Prayer is "Forgiveness". In this sermon, Pastor Albert Kang takes you on a journey of forgiveness. This will not only free your soul of bitterness but it will also help you get reconnected with people whom you had bad experiences before. It is not so much that they have changed but that you have been empowered to forgive them. New attacks will no longer hurt you because you now have the spiritual tenacity to overcome. In short, you have a spiritual immunity system build-up so strongly that nothing will be able to break in and destroy your peace with the Lord.

How are your relationships going? Are you experiencing any pain or stress or struggles? Are any of your relationships under stress?
We all find ourselves in those situations from time to time and none of us like to be there. But how do we move beyond that to find healing and wholeness in our relationships?

Like an MRI looks into our physical bodies, we need to give ourselves a spiritual examination to determine our spiritual health. This examination should be personal (you can't examine someone else's spiritual state), it should use the correct standard (not comparing yourself to someone else but the perfect standard of the Bible), it should be thorough, honest and continuous.
The act of enduring mental, physical or emotional discomfort or difficulty for a prolonged period of time with patience and spiritual integrity.
The endurance of insult, abuse or mistreatment without waver from the truth.
Not easily provoked.
Josh 24:14-15 Now, then, fear the LORD, and serve Him in sincerity and truth. And put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served Beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

"These are the times that try men's souls."
This simple quotation from one of America's Founding Fathers, Thomas Paine, not only describes the beginnings of the American Revolution, but also the the increasingly crazy world of 2014.
Many people may be distracted by such times but followers of Jesus must keep their eyes on Jesus and stay the course, not give up and run the race God has assigned to each of us till He calls us home or He comes back to earth.
This message is a reminder of the high stakes of staying in the race until the end and not giving up.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
10. We would all agree that there are some
things that are just wrong! None of us
would hesitate to condemn their actions and
gladly proclaim that these infamous men
deserved to be punished. Now tell me about
these people?
12. It does us no good to sit here and only
discuss how wicked everyone else is. We
need to look at what God says about all sin,
not just the really “bad ones”. We‟ll look at
the standard he expects in order to show the
all pervasive and appalling effects of sin on
each of us. Our focus will be to answer
these questions:
Me? Bad?
13. • Where does sin come from?
• Does God hold us accountable for the
way we are?
• How badly does sin affect me and my
relationship to God?
Lesson Goals
14.
15. Let‟s look at where sin came from and when
it started. We turn to Genesis chapter three.
God has just created the world and now
Satan in the form of a serpent comes to the
first people, Adam and Eve, in order to get
them to disobey God.
In the beginning…
16. Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the
wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to
the woman, “Did God really say, „You must not eat
from any tree in the garden‟?”
The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit
from the trees in the garden, but God did say, „You
must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle
of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you
will die.‟ ”
Gen 3:1-8
17. 4 “You will not surely die,” the serpent said
to the woman. 5 “For God knows that when
you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and
you will be like God, knowing good and
evil.”
Genesis 3:1-8
18. 6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the
tree was good for food and pleasing to the
eye, and also desirable for gaining
wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also
gave some to her husband, who was with
her, and he ate it.
Genesis 3:1-8
19. Answer these two questions:
• Where does sin come from?
• Where does sin not come from?
Sin
20. Sin came into this world when Adam and
Eve disobeyed God. They sinned. God did
not bring sin into this world. Adam and Eve
listened to the devil rather than God.
They sinned
21. Just as Adam and Eve were responsible
for their own sins, so too are we. If
we‟re going to accept the effects of sin,
we need to be able to accept the
responsibility of blame
We sin
26. I am born in the likeness of my first
parents, Adam and Eve. I am sinful
through and through. I am a sinner.
27. The sinful nature passed down
to us from our parents is called
“Original Sin.”
Original Sin
28. What does God tell me about
this original sin?
How does God see me?
29. Therefore, just as sin entered the
world through one man, and death
through sin, and in this way death
came to all men, because all sinned.
Romans 5:12
30. Based on the passages you‟ve
looked at, does God hold you
accountable for the way you are?
For the fact that you are sinful from
birth?
Accountability
44. Then he will say to those on his
left, “Depart from me, you who
are cursed, into the eternal fire
prepared for the devil and his
angels.”
Matthew 25:41
45. “Is there any wiggle room? What about
all the times I am good and help others?
Doesn‟t that count for anything? What
about all the people that are worse
sinners than me? Surely I am not in the
same boat as them?”
Surely I don’t deserve hell?
46. for all have sinned and
fall short of the glory of
God
Romans 3:23
47. But do not despair!
Look at what Jesus
says…
Hope
48. “It is not the healthy who
need a doctor, but the sick. I
have not come to call the
righteous, but sinners.”
Mark 2:17
49. Jesus came to save sinners like you
and me. He did so by dying on the
cross and forgiving our sins.
Through his blood are relationship
with God is restored.
Forgiveness of Sins
50.
51. Take a look at one last Bibe
verse comparing our sin we
inherited from Adam to the
perfection we find in Jesus:
52. For if, by the trespass of the one
man, death reigned through that one
man, how much more will those
who receive God‟s abundant
provision of grace and of the gift of
righteousness reign in life through
the one man, Jesus Christ!
Romans 5:17
