Each student will do a daily oral report at the beginning of each class, starting this Wednesday. Students will draw lots to determine the speaking order. The teacher will provide a model for the report format. Reports should be 2-3 minutes about something that happened to the student or around them, and include a question for classmates to discuss. The author will share some samples of the dialogues which took place between the Japanese EFL students and the American Japanese as a Second Language learners. In addition, the results of an anonymous questionnaire consisting of 20 statements with Likert-type scales will be discussed. Finally, some possible implications and practical suggestions for foreign and second language educators will also be shared.

Discussion Board postings should be "original thought" posting. Unless requested to do so, students should not use the internet to create discussion board responses.
Discussion Board postings should be 300 words minimum in length, provide evidence of reading comprehension through illustrations from the reading assignments, critical thinking, and consideration of others' views.
When Discussion Board work is assigned on the syllabus schedule, students must post their responses by the appointed time and respond to at least two class members' posts within 48 hours/at the appointed time.
Discussion Board work is time-sensitive. Late submissions will not be accepted/will receive a zero.
It is STRONGLY suggested that you visit the discussion board frequently after your work is completed to see where the discussion is going and to further respond to your group members (or your instructor) if need be.

2016 Spring Fed Income Tax (Upper Div) UC Hastings
The document contains student evaluations of Professor Tracey Roberts' LAW*540*21 Federal Income Tax class. Several students praised Professor Roberts' knowledge, ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly, and efforts to provide numerous resources and materials to help students learn. In phase 1, students reported that discussions, peer reviews, and feedback from the instructor helped them feel connected to their peers and the instructor. In phase 2, the survey results showed that students preferred low-tech strategies over high-tech strategies for feeling connected. General "how-to" videos and one-on-one emails with the instructor were among the top strategies. Digital storytelling and peer reviews also helped students feel connected to their peers.

Oral report
