Optus OCA Fitout, SA
Optus OCA Fitout Project Deliverables:
OVERVIEW
SHAPE was appointed to
deliver the fitout of two and
a half floors at Optus’ new
office. The 3,700m² project
was undertaken across three
stages, requiring SHAPE to
mobilise the site for each
stage. Stages one and three
included the fitout of 2,000m²
of call centre workstations, with
large breakout areas and chill
out zones. While stage two
involved the construction of a
high-end reception area and a
training facility across half of a
floor.
CERTAINTY OF DELIVERY
With a tight deadline for
handover of each stage,
defect management was
critical. SHAPE tracked a
detailed weekly programme
in consultation with Optus to
ensure open communication
with the client and timely
completion of the overall
project. SHAPE also undertook
preliminary defect inspections
at the close of each stage to
ensure that the project was
handed over to the client with
zero defects and therefore no
time delays.
COLLABORATIVE
APPROACH
The building was undergoing a
base building refurbishment at
the time that SHAPE delivered
Optus’ fitout. A focus on a
strong working relationship
and integration with the base
building contractor resulted in
a smooth project delivery and
seamless sharing of the goods
lift. With the communications
room remaining live throughout
the project, ongoing
collaboration with the client
was critical. SHAPE maintained
a cool, dust free environment
to allow no disruption to the
communications room and
business continuity for Optus.
