STRATEGIES FOR PRINTING INDUSTRY IN BANGALORE
1. INTRODUCTION
Manufacturing is a process use of machines, tools and labor to produce goods for use or
sale. Includes a range of human activity, from handicraft to high-tech, Labels were first
introduced in America under the art of Lithography was the first commercial art. The purpose
of the label has always remained the same that is to attract the attention of the customers.
Orchard owners to draw attention to their fruits, vegetables and cigars crates first used the
labels. Gum was used to stick the labels to the crates as at that time no one would have even
heard about label printers. Pressure sensitive label, which was also known as the self-
adhesive label, was the first label that was manufactured in the early 1930s. .The label was
made out of a blank paper surface with a coat of adhesive. People started to indulge in label
printing in the comfort of their own home with their very own label printer as soon as inkjet
printers were invented. Laser printers made printing labels at home even easier as it paved the
way for labels to be printed at a faster and cheaper rate with a higher clarity. Labels can also
be purchased online directly from manufacturers, which will also reduce cost as the price will
be much lesser and the labels can be printed at home by using a label printer, It is India that is
now beginning to lead global label growth. Growth rates, for the label industries in India have
been revised upwards over the past eighteen months and are now estimated to be as high as
20%-25% for the coming year. The total label market in India in terms of volume is around 2
billion square meters –although it is anticipated to rise to more than 3-4 billion square meters
over the next 4-5years. A range of different types of labels are produced in India like Self-
adhesive labels - 44% & Wet-glue applied paper labels - 56%. The most common end-users
of Indian label is Food (16%), Healthcare/pharmaceutical (16%), Industrial products (13%),
Cosmetics/toiletries (11%), Automotive/aeronautics/marine (11%) and Consumer products
(10%). This should hopefully be good for future investment and growth in the Indian label
industry. The Indian label industry is capable of the highest quality of printing, not only for
the domestic market but also for export to other markets around the world. Indeed, during a
survey made it is learnt some 52% of respondents to the survey claimed to export to another
country in the Asia region, 40% exported to Europe and 52% to North America. A label is a
piece of paper, polymer, cloth, metal, or other material affixed to a container or article, on
which is printed a legend, information concerning the product. The major part of label
industries such as Aerospace Industry, Chemical Industry, Computer Industry, Garment
Industry, Pharmaceutical Industry, Printing Label Industry, Automotive Industry, Electronics
Industry and Food processing Industry.

million of yield. Along these lines, creation effectiveness can be about 100%. At the
point when given an issue, the Six Sigma approach utilizes a five-advance strategy
called DMAIC, an acronym of characterize measure, examine, enhance and control.
• Another conceivable strategy for responding to snappy changes in the market is RMS,
a creation framework that can be utilized with various functionalities inside an item
family. With a RMS, you can influence alterations underway to cost viably.

expanding association of workers in the arranging forms. Tuning in to the
suppositions of the laborers frequently raises new thoughts, an alternate point of view
on what issues ought to be illuminated and how to make the operations more

• Due to the regularly compelling natural controls, organizations must work under
strain to lessen their destructive effect while as yet having the capacity to develop.
The issues, since influencing all levels of operations, require the bits of knowledge of
operations administration on what are the alternatives to meet these new desires.

Includes a range of human activity, from handicraft to high-tech, Labels were first introduced in America under the art of Lithography was the first commercial art. The purpose of the label has always remained the same that is to attract the attention of the customers. Orchard owners to draw attention to their fruits, vegetables and cigars crates first used the labels. Gum was used to stick the labels to the crates as at that time no one would have even heard about label printers. Pressure sensitive label, which was also known as the self- adhesive label, was the first label that was manufactured in the early 1930s. .The label was made out of a blank paper surface with a coat of adhesive. People started to indulge in label printing in the comfort of their own home with their very own label printer as soon as inkjet printers were invented. Laser printers made printing labels at home even easier as it paved the way for labels to be printed at a faster and cheaper rate with a higher clarity. Labels can also be purchased online directly from manufacturers, which will also reduce cost as the price will be much lesser and the labels can be printed at home by using a label printer, It is India that is now beginning to lead global label growth.
