This document discusses OpenNebula, an open-source tool for building and managing private clouds. It provides a uniform management layer across hypervisors and physical infrastructure. OpenNebula aims to simplify private cloud deployment and operations for system administrators while providing flexibility. It has grown significantly since starting as a research project in 2005 and is now used by thousands of organizations to operate private clouds supporting millions of customers.
