 Production of a radio advert, magazine and an advergame based
around advertising an existing product
 Experimentation with various planning documents
 Research and Audience Theory
 Theory into audiences and how to conduct research
 Key terminology
 Personal Project
 Research, plan and produce a product of your choice and create
various original media assets for this idea.
The Year
Term 2
 Audio
 Creating audio assets for Radio, such as an original short radio show, audio book,
documentary…
 Visual
 Magazine production, a front cover, contents and double page spread for an original magazine.
 Interactive
 Original visual assets for an original pixelated video game, designing characters, backgrounds,
moving objects and animating them into a sequence with audio.
The Year
 Term 3
 Final Major Project (FMP)
 You will plan and produce a project of your choosing
 You can choose any media production and negotiate it
with your tutor
 You will invent an original product and make different
media assets for it. E.G an original game called ‘Target
Shooter’ might have t shirt designs, characters in an
animation and game cover box art.
 Portfolio building
 All the work is displayed on an online blog ->
 This creates an electronic portfolio for you to share with
future employers and tutors at university interviews
Progression to Level 3
 In order to progress onto a level 3 course you need to;
 Achieve an overall Merit (M) on L2 Media
 Achieve a GCSE grade C in English
 Achieve a GCSE grade C in Maths…
 Have overall attendance over 90%
 Recommendation from your Progress tutor
