Chris Dillon works at Putaruru College as the TiC Digital Technology. The document discusses digital badges, which are online indicators of accomplishments, skills, qualities, or interests that can be earned in various learning environments. Chris Dillon implemented a digital badge system for Putaruru College through Edmodo, where teachers can create and award badges to students. However, badges on Edmodo have limitations as they are confined within the Edmodo platform. Mozilla has since launched Open Badges v1, providing a way to aggregate badges from multiple platforms and sources through personal backpacks. Overall, Chris believes digital badges have positively impacted learning by motivating participation and collaboration.

MoodelMoot IE Uk 2015 - Let's make badges (pecha kucha)Jessica Gramp
Badges are images with metadata that recognize skills and achievements. They can be manually awarded or automatically earned by completing activities. Badges stored in a Mozilla Backpack can verify skills and be displayed on social media. At UCL, badges in Moodle recognize skills developed in a management course, like teamwork or critical analysis. Badges encourage participation and help students understand their skill development, while helping teachers track skills. Considerations for using badges include how much instruction to provide, how to phrase badge descriptions and award notifications, and that badges cannot be revoked once awarded.
Watch as learning specialist Bob Price shares his plans to use Open Badges to create a learning pathway that will underpin the knowledge required for the team at Newport City Homes.
Open Badges is a new online standard to recognize and verify learning.
In this presentation, you’ll find out how to:
- Collect badges from multiple sources, online and off, into a single backpack
- Display skills and achievements on many mediums
- Encourage and motivate learners with badges
Digital badges provide a way to represent skills, achievements, and accomplishments online through symbols or indicators. Open digital badges use an open standard to allow earners to combine multiple badges from different issuers to tell the complete story of their achievements online and offline. Badges can motivate behaviors, set goals, and communicate success to employers, educational institutions, and in personal and professional networks. The document provides examples of how digital badges are used and the metadata attached to verify skills and achievements through credible organizations in an interoperable, portable, and shareable way across the web.

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like
Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can
occur natural.

2. Learning happens everywhere.
But it's often difficult to get recognition for skills and
achievements that happen online or out of school.
Open Badges are an attempt to solve that
problem, allowing any organization to issue, manage
and display digital badges across the web.
3. Badges being developed to…
• Create an alternative accreditation /
credentialing system
• Avoid silos; i.e. badges stuck in one learning
system
• Accredit both ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ skills
• Support learners learning everywhere
4.
5. What is a badge and how does it work?
• An image embedded with metadata (sharable
across the web)
• Metadata links to webpages, detailing who
issued the badge, and what the learner has
done
• Can include examples of work, i.e., portfolio
6. Learner-led learning
Learners choose what badges they want to earn
Learners can share the badge on their
website, social networking profiles
(Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)
Learners have control over their badge backpack
7.
8. Virtually anyone can issue a badge, about
virtually anything
Currently no standardisation within the badging
infrastructure
