- oversees cross border funds transfer banking operations for corporate customers of
Citibank Malaysia
- handles SWIFT message construction
- ensure banking operations are compliant with Bank Negara regulations
- performs checking on transactional basis for sanctioned vessels, individuals, entities and
countries
- enforces anti-money laundering measures on cash outflows.
- provide training to existing intermediate staff members
- performs daily checking and matching of NOSTRO accounting entries
- performs investigation on potential banking operational hiccups or defects

In the Central Funding Unit has been the most productive and knowledgeable duration of
time that I have experienced during summer break. The scope of knowledge gained not
only encompasses the technical and practical aspects of the internship, but also
incorporates a variety of knowledge that ranges from filing and composition of reportings
to basic social communication and comprehension skills.
Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), Japanese Bank International Corporation (JBIC), Medium
Term Funding (MTF), Syndication of Loans (QUATTRO) and market surveillance are
the several areas of CFU expertise that I had the opportunity to participate in. My initial
assignment to filing and arrangement of related documents has presented a brief summary
of the aforementioned areas of projects that I will have more involvement and
participation in the upcoming period of the internship program.
As an intern, I am grateful that be given the opportunity to utilize the only Bloomberg
Terminal in the department on daily basis. This expensive machine transforms knowledge
and information that are delivered in lectures, tutorials and textbooks into actual
