Onion and Tomato Gravy
Ingredients
500 gms Onions sliced
500 gms Sliced Tomato
50 gms Clarified Butter or ghee
5 gms Red chilli Powder
Salt to taste
5 gms Garlic chopped or paste
5 gms Ginger chopped or paste
2 nos Bay leaves optional
5 gms Cinnamon
5 gms Green Cardamom
5 gms Cloves
5 gms Cumin
Cooking Cream Optional
Cashew Paste Optional
Procedure
Heat ghee or clarified butter in a pan and add roughly sliced onions and saute.
Add sliced tomatoes , cinnamon , green cardamom and cloves ,chopped garlic
and
ginger .
Mix and let it cook covered till the tomatoes are soft.
Chef Ashokkumar
Allow it to cool down pass it through a blender until fine paste.
Again add ghee and cook, add chili powder , coriander powder , turmeric powder,
Finish it with coriander leaves
This may take about 10-15 minutes. Serve hot with rice or chappathi.
Additions
You can add chicken cubes to make a chicken curry.
You can also prepare lamb curry by adding lamb.
You can also make a curry by adding potatoes or vegetables etc….

  • 1.
