The UPMC Horizon Oncology Patient Care Fund was established in 1999 to provide emotional comfort and financial support for cancer patients and their families in the local community as well as support national cancer research organizations. The Fund is administered by UPMC Horizon staff and has provided monetary gifts, gas cards, lift chairs, and getaway packages to improve the health and well-being of cancer patients and their families. It also supports several national cancer nonprofit organizations.

The Oncology Patient Care Fund supports the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life,and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
