It’s my honor to provide my highest recommendation for Bethany
Smith. Bethany was a student in my Spring 2015 Marketing on the
Internet (Digital Marketing) class and I also selected her to be my
graduate assistant for the summer because of how well she
professionally conducted herself and how well she did in my
course. She is one of the top 5 best students I have taught
(including both undergraduate and graduate), and I believe she will
do very well as your intern because of her previous work
experience, work ethic and skill-set she displayed in my class, and
prior analysis she has conducted for Nike Basketball’s 2015 social
media marketing campaign.
In the class I teach, I require students to undertake an analytic
approach to digital marketing. The three major group assignments
in the course forced Bethany to apply the theoretical knowledge
learned in my class on real-life digital marketing analytic
challenges. One of the specific assignments was in collaboration
with Nike Basketball, where Bethany turned in one of the best
analysis I have ever seen. For another project in which students
provided internet marketing recommendations for a local non-
profit, Bethany’s group also received the highest grades; and last,

2. in more minor assignments, her analysis of companies’ internet
and social media marketing were also the highest across both of
my classes. Basically, I don’t say this often, but her work was quite
exquisite all semester long.
In addition, Bethany showed great determination and demonstrated
a concerted effort to do the best that she could possibly do to
ensure that everything that was asked of her was completed. Her
analyses, essays, and oral presentations demonstrated very good
analytical and communication skills. She also displayed strong
network and socialization skills both with her fellow peers and
myself throughout the course of the semester. Further, Bethany’s
diverse experience in digital marketing, restaurants, and as an
academic research assistant make her a very well-rounded
candidate.
