I am about to start my own coffee shop:
Thus I went around my home town to observe the available coffee shops.

After paying attention I realized:
• They all lack originality and they are trying the same thing to attract
   customers
• They are huge potential for my own café if I do some of that I notice via this
   exercise
• The cafés designs are average.
• They are no music being played.
• No food samples are given to the customer
• There is no special treatments to returning customers.
• They all have the boring routine, never held a special event
• Some management wish to barely survive not thrive
• Many not showing their specials
• None give good quality coffee
• None provide great quality tea and we drink tea more than coffee.
The following are the opportunities that I have notice:
• Always strive to meet customers expectation and raise the bar often.
• Don’t just sell coffee, provide entertainment.
    • Books
    • Games
    • Challenges.
• Spend money on marketing your products
• Play music that go with the theme
• Display your selling items creatively.
• Bring something new often.
• Welcome all customers and welcome special customers.
• Provide samples of all your food and drinks.
• Don’t be cheap, pay and people will appreciate.
• Don’t limit your self to your shop, go out and make your name heard.
• Run events, contests, concerts etc.
• Be socially active
• Have a dynamic shop so that you can change the decoration often.
• Use proper communications medium and people
• Think long term
• Don’t settle for quick fix
• Present food with style.
