This document outlines a nutrition lesson plan for a health class of 20 high school freshmen, including 6 with learning disabilities. The objective is to teach students about nutrition and digestion using presentations, smart boards, and social media assignments. Students will keep a portfolio of all materials to prepare for an open book exam at the end of the semester. The lesson will cover macronutrients, micronutrients, and the six essential nutrients: carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, and water.
