3. • Beseech You– parakaleo- same base word as used of the
comforter in John – exhortation, comfort
• Therefore, shows he is drawing a conclusion based on
conversation prior about Jew and Gentiles being in the body.
• Brethren, Jew or Gentiles (1 Pet. 2:17- Love the brotherhood)
• By the mercies of God- Shows motive...because God has shown
us mercy (1 Jn.4:19; Psalm 119:156)
• Present (Active infinitive), Action we are to perform, Christianity
isn’t a spectator sport (James 2; Roms.6:4; 1 John 1:7; Eph.2:10,

• Bodies a living sacrifice- verses the dead animal sacrifices- We

Worship is more than what is done for a couple of hours in a church
building!

Romans 12:9-21
• Let Love Be Without Hypocrisy- “Feigned love is hate disguised” D.L.
• Abhor what is evil, cling to what is good
• Kindly affectionate to one another, preferring one another
• Not lagging in diligence
• Fervent in Spirit
• Serving the Lord
• Rejoicing in Hope
• Patient in tribulation
• Continuing steadfastly in prayer
• Distributing to the needs of the saints
• Given to hospitality (Heb. 13:2) – Imperative
• Bless those who persecute you, do not curse
• Rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep

• Provide things honest in the sight of all men
• Live peaceably with all men
When we do these things, we bring honor to our God and he is pleased
with living sacrifice.
