CHEFS THROW PIZZA PARTY TO HELP SHARE OUR STRENGTH MAINE
FIGHT CHILDHOOD HUNGER THROUGHOUT THE STATE
Flatbreads hosts No Kid Hungry Dinner® on Feb. 10

PORTLAND, ME– Top-ranked Maine chefs – Portland’s Rob Evans of Duckfat, Sam Hayward of Fore
Streetand Chad Conley of Gather in Yarmouth –will be showcasing their pizza-making skills for a special No
Kid Hungry Dinner® on Feb. 10 at Portland’s waterfront, organic pizzeria,Flatbread Company.

This evening will be more casual than previous No Kid Hungry Dinners® and families are especially
encouraged to attend. The ticket price includes all-you-can-eat pizza, salad and dessert and children eat free
with an adult ticket purchase. Also participating:Rosemont Bakery, who will be providing salads and East
End Cupcakes.

Across the United States, 1 in 5 children is uncertain where her next meal will come from. In Maine, the
numbers are even more devastating – 1 in 4. Funds raised through the generosity of Maine’s chefs and
restaurants, businesses and individuals, via high-profile events such as the annual Taste of the Nation in June,
Dine Out For No Kid Hungry and the Great American Bake Sale, make a profound impact.

Children who have limited or uncertain access to nutritious food struggle in school, significantly reducing their
chances of success in life. Since its first Taste of The Nation event in 2006, Share Our Strength Maine has
raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for some of the state’s most successful anti-hunger organizations
working diligently to feed hungry children in Maine and beyond. These include the local beneficiaries of the
Feb. 10 No Kid Hungry Dinner: Good Shepherd Food Bank; Preble Street Teen Center; The Opportunity
Alliance; and Cultivating Community.

The evening at Flatbread Companybegins at 5:00 p.m. and will feature a silent auction and live band. No
reservations will be taken and tickets are available both online in advance for $30 and at the door for $35.
Drinks are not included but will be available for purchase.
