Loran and Myrna Smith are Back and Better than Ever in New Cookbook
Athens, GA - November 9, 2011 - Let the Big Dawg Eat...Again! is a collection of recipes from
Bulldog fans, friends and the many sports celebrities Loran has met in a lifetime of sports
including: Vince and Barbara Dooley, Mark and Kathryn Richt, Archie and Olivia Manning,
Jack and Barbara Nicklaus, Marianne and Roger Staubach, Marianne Rogers, Phyllis George,
Julie Moran, and many more.
And it‟s not just recipes. The book features colorful stories and vignettes to go with over 300
new recipes, plus Jack Davis artwork and color photographs that make Let the Big Dawg

Loran Smith is an active newspaper columnist, co-host of the popular Bulldog‟s Tailgate Show,
and he has authored more than 15 books. Loran has had varied responsibilities with the
University of Georgia over the years. He has been assistant sports information director, business
manager of athletics, and executive director of the Georgia Bulldog Clubs. He is past chairman
of the State of Georgia Sports Hall of Fame and was elected to the State of Georgia Sports Hall
of Fame in 1997. He and his wife, Myrna, live in Athens.
The book has a retail price of $29.95 in hardcover and is available at the UGA Bookstore,
several Kroger stores, Appointments at Five (Athens), The Plantation Shop (Amelia Island), GJ
Ford Bookshop (St. Simons), Scott‟s Bookstore (Newnan), and otherfine shops across the state.
