1. Patrika is No.1 news daily in Rajasthan: IRS 2013
Rajasthan is the largest state of India in terms of area. It holds a great significance in the country's
geographical and monetary value. This place of erstwhile royal provinces has always been known for

Rajasthan Patrika has been maintaining its No. 1 position in their base market for past many decades.
As per the figures of Indian Readership Survey (IRS) 2013, Patrika is way ahead of its competitors
with a huge difference of over 40 (21,11,000 readers) percent. While their closest competitor Dainik
Bhaskar has only 53,64,000 average issued readership, Rajasthan Patrika is way ahead at 74,75,000
AIR.
In Jaipur city
Patrika group with their heart wrenching journalism and combative journalists, has once again stood
miles ahead of its nearest emulator Dainik Bhaskar in the city of Jaipur. As per the survey conducted by
IRS, in year 2013, it was revealed that publications of Patrika group (Rajasthan Patrika & Daily News)
combinely were way ahead of Dainik Bhaskar's over all AIR (average issue of readerships). RP & DN
Togather have an AIR of 10,93,000 readers, as compared to Bhaskar's 10,19,000 AIR.
In Various District Clusters
Leaving it's impact on most of the district clusters, RP has almost clean swept Dainik Bhaskar in
Rajasthan. As per the survey conducted in various cities of Rajasthan by IRS in 2013, readers in
Jodhpur district have positioned RP to a new high with a victory margin of over 100% (at 5,61,000
AIR) against Dainik Bhaskar (2,77,000 AIR). In the regions of Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Dausa,
Ajmer and Tonk, Patrika has done exceedingly well. It has an average issued readership of 7,01,000 in
compariosn to Bhaskar's 5,57,000.
In Jhunjhunu and Sikar, RP has once again shown its supremacy over DB. RP has taken a lead of over
1,92,000 readers over Bhaskar (2,88,000 AIR) in this region.
In Jalore & Pali, as per the survey reports, the gap between Patrika and Bhaskar is almost two & a half
times. RP has 3,53,000 average issued readership in this region, where as DB has only 1,41,000.
In the districts Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Bikaner, Churu, Nagaur, Jaisalmer and Barmer, the
combined average readership is more than the double here as well. DB has managed only 5,99,000
numbers, where as RP has garnered a huge number of 1,27,7000 .
Rajasthan Patrika has also fared well in the regions of cities like , Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, Banswara
and Chittorgarh. RP has edged past latter with the margin of 2,14,000 AIR. RP garnered 4,19,000 AIR
while DB could manage only 1,95,000 numbers.
The combined average issued readership (AIR) according to IRS 2013 in the regions of Sirohi, Bundi,
Bhilwara, Rajsamand, Kota, Baran, Jhalawar and Udaipur of Rajasthan Patrika is 17,11,000, which is
way more than that of Dainik Bhaskar, which is at just 10,14,000 AIR. So, here as well RP comes out a
clear winner.

2. In the regions of Alwar, Bharatpur and Dholpur Rajasthan Patrika has strenghtened its position. The
combined readership of RP is 4,81,000, which is 60,000 more than that of DB (4,21,000).
Popularity in Urban and Rural area
In urban areas, Rajasthan Patrika has got a massive foot hold in the state of Rajasthan. It has outclassed
its nearest competitor by a good margin of 9,63,000 AIR as per the IRS survey of 2013. Dainik Bhaskar
has got 33,05,000 AIR as compared to Rajasthan Patrika's massive AIR of 42,68,000.
RP has also performed remarkably well in rural areas. Rajasthan Patrika has 32,06,000 AIR on its side
where as Bhaskar could grab only 20,60,000 AIR.
Patrika Dominates Major Segments
In the major segments, Patrika has garnered good amount of popularity among male reader(10,41,000
AIR), which is way ahead of Dainik Bhaskar's 7,11,000.
Among the readers of age group 20-49 years, Rajasthan Patrika has once again proved its mettle with
leaving its nearest rival Dainik Bhaskar's way behind. While RP has managed attention of 15,48,000
AIR, the DB has got just 13,22,000 average issued readerships from this age group.
In the age group of teenagers, which is 12-19 years, Rajasthan Patrika has persisted with its
domination. It has clearly stood numer uno with 15,48,000 teenagers reading RP as compared to only
13,22,000 paying attention to Dainik Bhaskar.
