Bibliotheca Alexandrina International Biennale for Miniature Graphics - Fourt...Sara Montani
The Biennale is an amazing display of technical, aesthetic, and symbolic innovations. Because it is an international event, there are styles ranging from amazing realism and reductionism to minimalism and abstract art. This round is all about wood engraving techniques to introduce the general public to this authentic art printing technique. More than 127 artists from all over the world have participated with around 375 works of art. They have generously donated these artworks to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina’s permanent art collection.
The document summarizes the process of developing a game called "Shooting Boids" that integrates elements from several other games. Key elements include:
1) Adding a rocket from Asteroids to shoot and hit flocking "boids" modeled after Boids simulation.
2) Making boids explode like asteroids upon getting hit.
3) Incorporating left/right movement controls from Breakout for the rocket.
4) Adding explosions from LunarLander when boids are hit.
5) Implementing a scoring system that accounts for accuracy and number of boids remaining.
6) Changing graphics and adding music to complete the game.

Late modernism operated after modernism had begun to lose favor with the public. As an intermediate period between high modernism and postmodernism, late modernism attempted to continue modernist practices during a time when innovation seemed to have ended. Emerging in the late 1970s and characterized by high-tech architecture, late modernism incorporated industrial and technological elements into building design and served as a bridge between past modernism and what came after.

Gustav Klimt was an Austrian painter born in 1862 who was a leading figure in the art nouveau movement. He attended the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts and was known for his sensual and ornamental paintings of women. Some of his most famous works include The Kiss painted in 1908, portraits of Adele Bloch-Bauer, and Goldfishes from 1901. Klimt's style transformed over time as he incorporated more abstraction, symbolism, and flattening of space in works like Beethoven Fries from 1902. Unfortunately, many of his pieces were destroyed in a 1945 fire set by retreating German forces.
