• All stand-alone TEIs will be required to convert to multidisciplinary
institutions by 2030, since they will have to offer the 4-year
integrated

• A 1-year B.Ed. may also be offered for candidates who have received
a 4-year undergraduate degree in a specialized subject. Scholarships
for meritorious students will be established for the purpose of
attracting outstanding candidates to the 4-year, 2-year, and 1-year

• Higher education institutions will offer vocational education either on
their own or in partnership with industry and NGOs
• By 2025, at least 50% of learners through the school and higher education
system shall have exposure to vocational education

Qualification Framework (NHEQF)
• The professional councils, will act as Professional Standard Setting Bodies

Curbing Commercialization of Education
• All education institutions will be held to similar standards of audit and
disclosure as a ‘not for profit’ entity
• The accreditation system developed by NAC will provide a
complementary check on this system, and NHERC will consider this as
one of the key dimensions of its regulatory objective
• All fees and charges set by private HEIs will be transparently and fully
disclosed
