A 68-year-old female patient presented with vertigo for 3-4 years. Examination and tests did not reveal a cause except for obesity. Treatment with anti-vertigo and antidepressant medications provided poor results. Upon further history, the patient reported pain with eating, and examination found tenderness in the left temporomandibular joint. Injection of steroids into the joint significantly relieved the vertigo. The unusual presentation was diagnosed as reactive labyrinthitis caused by non-infectious inflammation of the temporomandibular joint.
