Rahi Systems’ proven methodology helps organizations increase the performance,
agility and manageability of the network infrastructure
A high-performance, highly available network is critical to business operations, enabling communication, collaboration and
access to on-premises and cloud resources. However, traditional networks were not designed for today’s hybrid IT model, and
are unable to support growing numbers of users and devices. Many IT teams struggle to meet increasingly stringent business
requirements and keep pace with maintenance and administration tasks.
Rahi Systems understands these challenges, and has developed a comprehensive methodology for the design, implementation
and ongoing management of next-generation network architectures. The Rahi Systems' team works with each customer to
define business and technical objectives, and determine how existing network elements meet or do not meet requirements. Rahi
Systems' engineers will then architect an automation-ready network, prove the technology in a lab environment, then roll out to
full-scale production.
Rahi’s methodology divides each project into nine phases to mitigate
risk while progressing steadily toward the desired objectives:
Discovery: The Rahi team will collect information on devices, connections and
protocols and create diagrams of the physical and logical network topology. Rahi
will also capture and review configurations of existing network elements, and gather
information on services and SLAs in order to evaluate bandwidth and throughput
requirements. Through collaboration with the customer’s IT team, Rahi will review
existing operational processes.
Architecture: Using the information collected during the discovery phase, Rahi
will architect a next-generation network capable of supporting current and future
requirements. Where possible, Rahi will incorporate existing devices and
connections into the design. Rahi will also identify automation tools, define the
structure of the data to be ingested into the software, and map out the process flow.
Implementation: The implementation phase involves the development of a well
architected plan that maps out the necessary steps to accomplish the desired
outcomes. Rahi will create an overview document along with detailed requirements
and configuration templates for the various network devices and operating systems.
Rahi will also specify the resource requirements for the orchestration manager, SDN
controller and other automation tools.

Evaluation Deployment: Using the approved implementation plan, Rahi will
create a testbed to emulate the success criteria defined for the network design.
The testbed would include the setup of the networking gear, and the installation
and configuration of automation tools.
Validation: Rahi will create a test plan based upon the defined success factors
and perform testing of the network and automation platform.
Production Integration: The production integration phase involves the collection
and normalization of data from various sources for ingestion into the automation
tools, and the integration of the SDN controller and orchestration manager into
the network.
Staging: Rahi will create templates for deploying the solution and define a
deployment sequence for the integration and production phases. A method
of procedure will document the steps taken and the commands issued for
individual tasks. A validation plan will outline the expected performance of the
solution, including automation of detection, analysis, remediation, and other
metrics.
Production Deployment: Rahi will execute the steps outlined in the method of
procedure and validate the environment based upon the validation plan.
Handoff and Training: To streamline the ongoing operation of the network,
Rahi will prepare an as-built document with IP addressing, tools used and other
deployment information. Rahi will also create an operations guide that provides
troubleshooting procedures, systems overview and other information. Hands-on
training sessions will help the customer’s IT team understand the deployed solutions
and its capabilities as well as usage and management. Rahi will provide 24x7
support for the first calendar week, then roll further support into a managed
