The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is an annual scholarship examination started in 1963 by the National Council of Education Research and Training. 1. NDA 2015 – Am I Eligibility?
National Defense Academy (NDA) is the First Gate of Entry for the students aspiring for the glorious as
well as adventurous career in Indian Armed Forces. NDA Exam enables a student to join anybranch of
Indian Armed Forces i.e. Army, Navy or Air Force. Depending upon the choices made by the candidates
they are awarded with Baccalaureate degree (a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of
Technology) after 3/4years of study.So by the means of NDA applicants get a job along with an opportunity
to continue their academic development.
NDA Examination is conducted twice a year by Union Public Service Commission. The notification
regarding NDA is published online on UPSC’s website and offline in RozgarSamachar/Employment News
in the month of December and June every year.
The notification of NDA's 136th course has been released by Union Public Service Commission, and the
Last date to apply for NDA is July 17, 2015. The total number of vacancies are 308 which include 208
vacancies for Army, 70 vacancies for Air Force and 42 Vacancies for Navy.
By the means of this article we intend to provide candidates information about the general eligibility criteria
of NDA examination. One must be physically as well as academically qualified in order to be eligible for
NDA examination. The details of eligibility standards are as follow:
Nationality: The student should be a citizen of India, subject of Bhutan or Nepal.
Gender: Only male candidates can appear in NDA Examination.
Marital Status: In order to be eligible for NDA, a candidates must be unmarried.
Age Limit and Date of Birth: The candidate must be between the age group of 15 to 19 years i.e.
born between January 2, 1997&January 01, 2000.
Academic Qualification:The academic qualification differs with the branch selected by the
candidate.
o For Army:A candidate must have cleared class 12 from any state or central board or
University.
o For Navy & Air Force: A candidate must have cleared class 12 from any state or central
board or University with Physics and Mathematics as the main subjects.
Physical Standards:The applicants must meet the following physical standards in order to be eligible
for NDA Examination:
o Height: The minimum height of the candidate should be 157.5 cms.
The minimum height for Air Force is 165.2 cms.
o Chest:The chest should be fully developed and the chest should not be less than 81 cms.
Expansion:The chest should expand by minimum 5 cms on full inflation.
o Vision: The candidates must have a 6/6 vision or vision that can be corrected to 6/6.
Candidates with spectacles are generally not considered for Air Force.
