associated with this project. Developed Engineering Work Packages (EWPs), prepared material

system to clear 500 meter passage, Air compressors station, water pump stations, slurry pumps.
 Lead Mechanical Engineer - Valentines Iron Ore Project. Senior Mechanical Engineer on the project
consisting of piping and pipeline for slurry systems. Responsible for wet area including slurry piping
and pipelines, insulation, painting and slurry handling equipment.
 Syncrude-Fort McMurray - Aurora Tailings Management. Lead Mechanical Engineer responsible for
piping, pipeline and Mechanical equipment for the Project. Performed ASME B31.3 and B31.11 pipes and
components calculations. Also responsible for developing engineering work packages (Piping, Pipelines
and Mechanical), performing air bubbler system thermal analysis, Material requisition (Mechanical, Piping
and Pipelines).
 Zamin FERROUS - Uruguay -Valentines Iron Ore Project. Lead Mechanical Engineer responsible for
Writing & reviewing piping and pipeline specifications for the wet process i.e. Iron ore concentrate pipeline
transportation system from Processing Plant to the port (350 km pipeline plus pumping stations).
Developed design specifications for piping, insulation and protective coating.
 RIO-TINTO IOCC - Mine Crusher Optimization Project and Blasting Performance. Project Manager on
the project consisting of adding a new Crusher unit to the mine to increase productivity from 17 MIT per
year to 25 MIT. Performed FEED and a feasibility study to optimize crusher capacity and the blasting
pattern. Responsible for layout review/modifications of crushing plants and ancillary equipment.
Responsible for the following:
 3600 HP Ball Mill Shell Replacement, Lifter, Liner and Ball Shape Optimization Program at the
Pellet Plant- Managed the Execution of the Shell replacement and NDT;
 Dust Control in Crusher House- Performed FEED and Pre-Feasibility Study; and
 Overhead Conveyor Belt 7 km to Transfer Blasted Raw to Second Crusher- Performed FEED
study and Pre-Feasibility.
 RIO-TINTO IOCC - SALA Magnetic Separator/Concentrator Plant. Lead Mechanical Engineer
responsible for upgrading the recovery of three magnetic separators. Redesigned the distribution piping
from the Hydro Cyclone to the Separator. Engineered the flow analysis, hydraulic balance, pre-feasibility

and feasibility. Performed detailed engineering for the feasible option. Executed the project. The NPV of
the Project was 1:10 and payback period 3 months.
 RIO-TINTO IOCC - Thickener Flocculant/Cogaulant System. Lead Mechanical Engineer responsible for
the complete design of a new system to treat the pellet plant waste water to upgrade the quality of the
process water. Also responsible for skid and piping design.
 RIO-TINTO IOCC - BC1-BC2 Air Improvement. Project consisted of a Wet Dust Collection system for
Pellet conveying system. Lead Mechanical Engineer responsible for performing full system design and
detailed engineering.
 RIO-TINTO IOCC - Load Out Variability Control. Project consisted of the upgrade of the train loading
system to increase train speed from 0.5 mph to .9 mph and the weight control system, as well as dust
control. Managed the execution of the project.
 RIO-TINTO IOCC - Pellet Plant Filtering and Balling Humidity Control. Lead Mechanical Engineer
responsible for performing full industrial ventilation design (including thermo-fluid simulation of the system,
option recommendations, component design and selection, prefeasibility and feasibility) to control
humidity from 26 filters and balling m/c's using heat recovery and specially designed hoods.
 RIO-TINTO IOCC - Steam Plant West Bridge. Lead Mechanical Engineer responsible for assessing
existing bridge integrity and overhaul to extend the working life and safety of the bridge use. Performed
pre prefeasibility and option selection.
 RIO-TINTO IOCC - Ore Product Dust Control. Project consisted of the dust suppression system at chutes
for the boom stackers. Lead Mechanical Engineer responsible for performing pre-feasibility, feasibility and
detailed engineering.
 RIO-TINTO IOCC - Slurry Pump Performance. Upgrade 1250 HP Slurry Pump Performance. Lead
Mechanical Engineer on the redesign of the piping and drive system. Audited the performance of the
slurry pump, complete measurement and system simulation to recommend options for upgrade.
 RIO-TINTO IOCC - Tailing Valves Wear Resistance. Lead Mechanical Engineer on the project consisting
of the study and replacement of valves in the concentrator plant to reduce cost due to high wear rate.
Performed full slurry flow and wear analysis to predict war rate and select alternative materials to pro long
service life of the valve to minimize shutdown and maximize production.
 RIO-TINTO IOCC - Vertical Pipe Slurry Pipe. Lead Mechanical Engineer on the wear and abrasion study
to redesign the piping route of a vertical pipe (120 ft long) to reduce abrasion. Performed flow wear
analysis to recommend a pipe design to prolong the service life of the pipe to 9 months instead of 3 weeks.
 RIO-TINTO IOCC - Tailing Pumps and Pipelines Upgrade. Lead Mechanical Engineer responsible for
performing a study and recommending alternatives to upgrade the tailing to handle 30% solid content by
weight from 15% using the existing system. Performed a full analysis of the piping/pump system to
recommend alternatives to upgrade the system to handle 50% solid instead of 20% using existing pumps
with minimum shutdowns, system modifications to increase the system capacity to handle double the flow
by adding extra pumps and change pipeline materials and sizes to accommodate higher flow without
affecting the wear rate.
 Lead Mechanical Engineer - Areva, Saskatchewan, Canada - Lead Mechanical and Piping Engineer
responsible for checking and review works Upgrading and Expanding the Uranium mine facility.
 Lead Mechanical Engineer - Enbridge, Hangingstone & Jacos part of Northern gateway Project –
