Some common, stubborn health conditions primary care providers can treat through naturopathic medicine. This is a presentation I did at the Washington Academy of Physician Assistants conference in Oct 2013.
The document describes a 5-stage rejuvenation cleanse program aimed at detoxification, weight normalization, and overall wellness. The stages include a parasite cleanse, liver/gallbladder flush, intestinal flush, master cleanse, and probiotic replenishment. The goal is to optimize healing, restore energy, improve health markers, and eliminate food addictions through cleansing and detoxification of the body. Consultation with a doctor is recommended before starting due to potential health risks.
1) Seven common myths about viral fevers are debunked. Myths include that viral fever is deadly, that temperature alone determines infection severity, and that external cooling and paracetamol are effective treatments.
2) The document explains that fever is the body's immune response, and factors like weakness, digestion, and sweating better indicate infection severity. External cooling can slow the immune response and prolong infection.
3) Relying only on "eat and rest" or folk remedies is discouraged. Ayurvedic treatment is tailored to each person's immune status and focuses on supporting the body's natural recovery processes rather than directly attacking pathogens.
Unit i a) introduction to pharmacognosy-convertedVishal Thorat
Pharmacognosy is the study of medicinal drugs from natural sources. It involves the study of crude drugs from plants, animals and minerals. The scope of pharmacognosy includes isolation of phytochemicals, structure activity relationships, natural products as precursors for drug synthesis, and investigation of biosynthetic pathways. Historically, ancient civilizations like Egyptians, Indians and Chinese made important contributions to the study and use of herbal medicines. Modern pharmacognosy developed with the isolation of active constituents from plants and discovery of antibiotics. Alternative medicine systems like Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, homeopathy and Chinese medicine also utilize naturally derived medicines.

1) The document debunks 7 common myths about viral fever. It explains that fever is not deadly but rather the body's immune response, and that factors like weakness, digestion, and sweating determine the grade of infection more than temperature alone.
2) It notes that during fever the immune system is actively fighting infection, so complete rest and external cooling can impair this process. Specific nutrients in Ayurveda stimulate antiviral metabolism and recovery.
3) The last myth addressed is that fever ending means full recovery, but the document lists scientific Ayurvedic parameters for full recovery and notes a follow up nutrition plan is advised for one week after for complete health.

Susceptibility, potency selection and repetition of dose in homoeopathyDr Ananthakrishnan V A
Susceptibility, potency selection and repetition are important factors in homeopathic treatment. Susceptibility refers to an organism's reaction to stimuli and determines the appropriate potency. Higher susceptibility indicates a higher potency is needed, while lower susceptibility calls for a lower potency. Factors like age, sex, habits, constitution and disease nature/depth influence susceptibility. Repetition of doses depends on the patient's progress, disease nature and remedy characteristics. Acute diseases require more frequent repetition than chronic diseases. Lower potencies are repeated more often than higher potencies.
This document discusses the benefits of detoxification through live juice fasting. It summarizes that juicing improves digestion, provides vital nutrition, transforms poor diets, reforms eating habits, reduces cravings, purifies the body, enhances body intelligence, and improves health and aids in weight loss. The document outlines how juicing delivers earthly elements to rebuild cells, carries toxins from the body, and awakens body intelligence to guide healthier food choices and overall well-being.
The document discusses an evolutionary medicine approach to mental health and resilience. It argues that existing mental health treatments are only partially effective and that a new approach is needed. Changes to our modern diets have reduced our ability to handle stress due to nutrient deficiencies. Following a diet and lifestyle aligned with our evolutionary past can help promote mental well-being by reducing inflammation and strengthening the immune system. While randomized controlled trials are still needed, studies suggest dietary interventions may help treat conditions like ADHD, autism, and violence. An evolutionary approach could revolutionize treatment and prevention of mental illness.
This document promotes the health benefits of juicing, claiming it can help prevent and treat heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and incurable diseases like cancer. It lists several benefits such as providing organic nutrients that give energy and healthier skin while slowing aging. The document also advocates a holistic approach to health that includes physical, mental, and spiritual well-being through practices like acupuncture, aromatherapy, meditation, and holistic nutrition in addition to juicing.

It emphasizes using a whole-foods, nutrient-dense diet and supplements like omega-3, multivitamins, and herbal remedies as part of an integrative approach to mental health. Testing methods and resources for making healthy food choices are also outlined. The document is presented by Dr. Ric Saguil to promote an alternative perspective on mental health treatment focusing on nutrition and lifestyle factors.
Medicines can be classified into four main categories: those that prevent disease like vaccines; those that fight pathogens like antibiotics and antivirals; those that relieve pain and symptoms like analgesics and narcotics; and those that manage chronic conditions and regulate body systems like insulin, antidepressants, and cancer treatments. Medicines work in the body in different ways such as killing pathogens, preventing their reproduction, reducing inflammation and pain. People must be careful when taking medicines due to risks of side effects, addiction, resistance, and interactions.
Homeopathy can play an important role in addressing common health issues faced by school-going children. It discusses lifestyle issues like obesity, allergies, and stress-related problems. For obesity, homeopathy aims to reduce cravings, improve metabolism, and control hypoglycemia. For allergies, it seeks to improve resistance and regulate immune response. Homeopathy has also shown success in improving mental health symptoms and addressing conditions like anxiety, aggression, and learning disorders. An integrated approach including homeopathy, lifestyle changes, counseling, and school support is recommended to help prevent and manage health issues in children.
The document discusses alternatives to mainstream "sick care" approaches and proposes adopting a "health care" model focused on prevention through lifestyle and dietary changes. It recommends a vegan diet high in raw fruits and vegetables, drinking purified water, regular exercise, sunshine exposure, stress management, and other holistic health practices. The document argues this approach can help avoid disease by maintaining optimum health and treating the root causes of illness rather than just symptoms.

Understanding Homeopathy - Obstacles to Cure and Maintaining CausesOwen Homoeopathics
Obstacles to Cure & Maintaining Causes discusses potential factors that can interfere with the effectiveness of homeopathic remedies. These include allopathic drugs, internal genetic or constitutional imbalances, and toxic environments that keep the body weakened. Personal habits like addiction or the overuse of stimulants like coffee can also deplete energy and act as obstacles. Being impatient with the treatment process or self-medicating can make it difficult to properly assess symptoms and find the most effective remedy. The document provides examples of each type of obstacle and suggests lower potency remedies taken more frequently to help overcome certain interfering factors.

Homeopathy is a form of alternative medicine based on the principle that substances that cause symptoms in healthy people can be used in extreme dilution to treat illnesses that cause similar symptoms. It was developed in the late 1700s by Samuel Hahnemann and works by triggering the body's natural immune response. While homeopathy has few side effects due to extreme dilution removing active ingredients, its efficacy is debated due to a lack of strong scientific evidence and some claims that its effects can be explained by the placebo effect.

Dr. Patrick Garrett is a chiropractor and clinical nutritionist who specializes in using lifestyle and dietary changes to reverse chronic health conditions. He believes that food can have a significant impact on mood, citing studies that have found many people with depression to be deficient in vitamins, minerals, omega-3 fatty acids and other nutrients found in whole foods like fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. Specific mood-boosting foods he recommends include cashews, citrus fruits, dark leafy greens, fatty fish and foods containing zinc, magnesium and B vitamins. His message is that making healthy dietary choices focused on nutrient-dense, whole foods can help improve mood and mental wellbeing.

Overall life span (LS) was 1671.7±1721.6 days and cumulative 5YS reached 62.4%, 10 years – 50.4%, 20 years – 44.6%. 94 LCP lived more than 5 years without cancer (LS=2958.6±1723.6 days), 22 – more than 10 years (LS=5571±1841.8 days). 67 LCP died because of LC (LS=471.9±344 days). AT significantly improved 5YS (68% vs. 53.7%) (P=0.028 by log-rank test). Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: N0-N12, T3-4, blood cell circuit, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells-CC and blood cells subpopulations), LC cell dynamics, recalcification time, heparin tolerance, prothrombin index, protein, AT, procedure type (P=0.000-0.031). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and N0-12 (rank=1), thrombocytes/CC (rank=2), segmented neutrophils/CC (3), eosinophils/CC (4), erythrocytes/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), stick neutrophils/CC (8), leucocytes/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (error=0.000; area under ROC curve=1.0).

8 Surprising Reasons To Meditate 40 Minutes A Day That Can Change Your Life.pptxHolistified Wellness
We’re talking about Vedic Meditation, a form of meditation that has been around for at least 5,000 years. Back then, the people who lived in the Indus Valley, now known as India and Pakistan, practised meditation as a fundamental part of daily life. This knowledge that has given us yoga and Ayurveda, was known as Veda, hence the name Vedic. And though there are some written records, the practice has been passed down verbally from generation to generation.

4. HOMEOPATHY
Most remedies have very little or none of the original crude material left
by the end of its processing. This is the process we use.
Creating a Mother Tincture: Made from a specific plant source is
processed by macerating the plant, then letting it soak in an alcohol
water solution. Draws the properties of the plant into the water and
alcohol. This tinctured solution is now called the mother tincture.
Potentiation By Succussion: The mother tincture is put through the
basic process of being potentised. One drop of the mother tincture is
put into a vial and then nine drops of a diluting material is added
(again an alcohol and water solution). This mixture is succussed (shaken
with impact). Succussion is essential.
*What is acting is not the remedy. It’s the person’s immune system, their
energy and body processes which are responding. A dilution that small
cannot push your body to do anything. It can only suggest, which gives
your body the choice to change or not.

Editor's Notes
Most remedies have very little or none of the original crude material left by the end of its processing. This is the process we use.
Creating a Mother Tincture: Made from a specific plant source is processed by macerating the plant, then letting it soak in an alcohol water solution. Draws the properties of the plant into the water and alcohol. This tinctured solution is now called the mother tincture.Potentiation By Succussion: The mother tincture is put through the basic process of being potentised. One drop of the mother tincture is put into a vial and then nine drops of a diluting material is added (again an alcohol and water solution). This mixture is succussed (shaken with impact). Succussion is essential. Succussion can be as simple as holding the vial containing the solution and pounding it against a book on a desk. This is now a 1X potency. X stands for ten in Roman numerals. To make a 2X potency you take one part of the 1X potency again adding it to nine parts of the diluting solution (alcohol and water) in a vial with a lid, and then succus it. Succussion is done at a minimum of 100 times per each level of dilution starting from the very beginning. This process continues until the desired potency (strength) of the remedy is attained.
Common Potencies And Their Lack Of Toxicity
Common potencies usually begin around 6X. The dilution ratio of 6X is one part of the original mother tincture to one million parts of the diluting material. So, only one part of the original mother tincture is in every million parts of the diluting material. This is what makes remedies extremely safe. Now watch.6X is already extremely dilute, but considered a low potency. More frequently used potencies are, 12X which is one part to 1,000,000,000,000 (whatever that number is), 30X which is one part to this astrological number: 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. These are infinitesimal doses. What is acting is not the remedy. It’s the person’s immune system, their energy and body processes which are responding. A dilution that small cannot push your body to do anything. It can only suggest, which gives your body the choice to change or not.Common C Potencies
C Potencies are also quite common. Commonly denoted as 6C, 12C, or 30C. C is 100, again in Roman Numerals. So, the one big difference in C Potencies is one part of the Mother Tincture is added to 99 parts of diluting solution (water and alcohol) and succussed for a 1C potency, and so on, until the desired potency. C potencies are more diluted then X potencies, but not less effective.
