The Bayt.com Nationalization in the GCC poll from March 2015 surveyed 1,270 respondents about employment trends and perceptions of national talent in the Gulf Cooperation Council. The results indicated mixed views on unemployment among nationals, with many believing it to be high, particularly in Saudi Arabia, while also showing that local talent is seen to be promoted faster and paid better than expatriates. Localization policies were generally viewed as effective, with a majority of companies planning to hire more local talent in the upcoming year.
