He graduated with degrees in engineering and worked as a systems programmer before founding Infosys in 1981 with six others. Infosys grew rapidly and became the first Indian company listed on NASDAQ. Today Infosys has over 150,000 employees and annual revenue of over $6.99 billion. Murthy has received many honors and awards for his entrepreneurship and contributions to the Indian economy.
