5. How it Works… A Unique Combination After ignition, the natural gas engine is brought to operating speed with the electric motor spinning. At a specified rpm, the motor takes over the compression load. A clutch engages to allow the natural gas engine to coast while “cooling down” as it slows to a stop.
6. A Unique Combination Transfers or load shifts are made between the engine and motor via remote controls or manual “at site” operations. There is virtually no interruption of gas flow during transfers back and forth between the engine and motor.
