Elements are the simplest form of matter that cannot be broken down further either physically or chemically. The periodic table arranges all known elements from left to right and top to bottom in order of increasing atomic number. It uses symbols to more easily represent the elements, with each column representing a family or group with a corresponding number. The document then provides an activity to test identifying symbols and names of various elements.
