- 2. My film opening is similar to real film openings as it falls under the common genre of ‘crime thriller’. It also establishes the film in the titles by showing the distributor, production company and title of the film.
- 3. Furthermore it is similar to real film openings as it follows the codes and conventions of a real film opening by the use of establishing shots to clarify location, close ups to establish to main characters and fast pace editing to build tension throughout the two minute opening.
- 4. To influence my film opening I watched film openings in the same genre as mine. The main films that were similar to mine were ‘déjà vu’ and ‘North by Northwest’. In ‘Déjà Vu’ the use of titles instantly identify the film to the thriller genre through the use of the typewritten font in the style of a police report. Therefore when we added titles to our film opening we were sure to use a similar font to clearly establish the film genre. This is an example the Revolution Productions font we used for our film opening
