2. Production EA black box made the game skate, they used technologies such as renderwear to model the joints of the human body. They also used the games ‘flick it’ system. EA games funded the game and electronic art published it. The designer was Scott Blackwood. The game was made for the Xbox 360 and later on for the Ps3, then a spin off game was created for the wii.
3. Marketing The game was advertised on television as well as having a demo released on the Xbox 360. The audience the creators wanted to attract were mainly teenage and older males. It attracted skateboard fans also teenagers who enjoy the skate type games. It was one of the only skate games to challenge Tony Hawk games and the only game to out sell it. In the adverts they promote the unique ‘flick it’ control as well as the famous skate boards which are featured in the game and the customizable story line.
4. Distribution The game SKATE was released in north America on September, 17 2007 for Xbox 360 and September, 24 2007 for the Ps3. You could pre order the game online and you could by the game in shops. The game did not bring out any special content.
