Dámaris Mayans is a PhD candidate in Spanish Linguistics at the University of Florida. Her dissertation focuses on monolingual and bilingual processing of lexical-syntactic features. She holds an MA in Spanish Linguistics and a certificate in translation from the University of Illinois. Her research interests include psycholinguistics, Spanish in contact with other languages, and bilingual and third language acquisition. She has published papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences and has taught Spanish courses at the University of Florida.
