Teen comedy is a subgenre of comedy that focuses on the interests of teenagers such as coming of age, relationships, and conflicts with parents. These topics are often presented in a stereotyped or trivialized way. Some of the earliest teen comedies date back to the 1950s but the genre became most popular between the 1980s-2000s with films like Heathers, Clueless, and American Pie that centered around social hierarchies and embarrassing relatable situations in high school. However, teen comedies tend to quickly become outdated as teen culture and slang evolves rapidly. To remain successful, modern teen films need to incorporate other genres to engage teenage audiences.

This document discusses marketing strategies for productions of the musical "Anything Goes" in two different contexts - a West End production in London and a school production. For the West End show, the target audience is described as older women who can afford theater tickets, and marketing would emphasize the 1930s setting through posters on buses and billboards in London showing costumes and characters. We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs

2. AN OVERVIEW OF MY TV DRAMA
My TV Drama is a Teen Drama called 'Rumour Has It'
My story is about a popular teenage girl mysteriously goes missing and her two best frineds from
college attempt to find her through her clues on social media.
Similar Teen Dramas to mine are Pretty Little Liars and Gossip Girl
3. CHARACTERS
The main character is the
popular girl at school,
named Elena, who goes
missing and posts clues of
where she is on social
media for her 2 best friends
to find her from. She will
appear like the typical
popular teenage girl in teen
dramas such as Alison
from Pretty Little Liars,
Serena from Gossip Girl and
Regina from Mean Girls.
She will appear confident
and self-centered.
Everybody knows who she is
and wants to be her. She
will live a wealthy lifestyle
and boys want to be with
her.
4. BRANDING
The title of my tv drama (Rumour Has It) will be in the same font style and
colours as on the website and throughout the branding in order to link the
tv drama to the website. I will also include the logo on the merchandise
within the 'shop' page of my website.
I want the brand to communicate the teen genre and also the mystery
sense of the drama.
My logo will have the name of the TV drama in a slightly script font style in
order to connote femininity and innocence as the target audience for my
show is young adults. I will have lips next to the text in either red, black or
gold to connote secrets, rumours and gossip, which communicates the
messages of the show and allows the audience to relate to the show as
many teenagers enjoy to gossip with their friends.
Similar logos to mine will be the Gossip Girl and the Pretty Little Liars logo
as they communicate similar messages.
6. INITIAL IDEAS FOR MY 3 MINUTE OPENING
1. One minute opening of best friends together around college – the popular clique – voice overlay
establishing the school cliques.
2. The title sequence appears for around 30 seconds – includes the cast names, director, producer and
ends on the name of the TV drama – the title sequence will have upbeat non-diegetic sound (typical of a
teen drama) and will have a sequence of shots of typical school items (clock ticking, school bag, canteen,
classroom) and establishing shots of buildings and Reigate town.
3. Last one and a half minutes of the opening – girls hang up missing girl posters around college, shots
of students on their phones (with characters saying rumours such as "Rumour has it, Elena has....(insert
place/occurance) everyone is attempting to look for her, the opening finishes with the girls seeing a post
from her on social media of her on an airplane.
7. INITIAL IDEAS FOR MY WEBSITE
Usual ITV pages at the top of the page, the itv logo and the search bar
Logo at the top of the page
My website for my TV drama will include different pages:
Episodes (show a list of the episodes and the names of them)
Characters (meet the characters) - a picture of them, the actor/actresses name and the characters name
Shop (merchendise)
Links to the social media accounts for the tv show
A picture of who the show is sponsored by (asos).
Similar websites to mine will be the ITV2 Love Island page and the BBC1 The Missing page.
