                 PART 3
            Nurul Akmar Ruslan
                   Asna M Zain
Problem Breakdown
 • 15.2% of Malaysians are diabetic patients

 • About 12000 people died in MOH hospitals due to circulatory disease
   and cancer in 2010.

 • Caused by the globalization process that absorbing the unhealthy
lifestyle from the western developed country.

 • The main issues in Malaysia:
     Increasing prevalence of diabetes
     High number of “undiagnosed”
     Unsatisfactory quality of care
If the Problem is Solved
Can reduce the threats of this silent killer

Could save the cost for the health care and treatment

Could save the cost of productivity lost

Could improve the nation healthiness and well-being

TOOL 1: ENGINEERING CONTRADICTION
“If the sugar content in food is controlled during the food production, it will
reduce the risk of obesity and thus reduce the productivity lost and the cost
for the treatment”

• 13 The other way around
• 24 Intermediary
Potential Solution
Principle 35 Parameter change

• Change the concentration of sugar in the food
  production

• Change the chemical composition of sugar
so that it will be readily absorb in the body

• Change the type of sugar used in the food,
from white sugar to brown sugar
TOOL 2: SUFIELD MODEL
• Current sugar processing using F(chemical) cause harmful sugar to
  people
• Change F(mechanical) process with F(thermal) field for processing
sugar which remove harmful of sugar

Editor's Notes

  1. The subject is DiabetesThe object is Health and Cost, which is also part of the systemDiabetes has harmful function towards the Health as it is silent-killer diseaseHealth has excessive function towards the Cost as it uses the Cost
  2. Improving #39 because to boost up the nation healthiness and well-beingWorsening #23 because to reduce the cost that lost for the diabetes treatmentWorsening #30 because to reduce the undesired effect of sugar towards the health
  3. Control the food intake and exercise regularlyEat more vegetables and fruits
