This document discusses a lack of reflection among first-year science students and proposes a tutor-led and peer-mediated learning program to address it. The program would take place outside the lab using asynchronous web-based communication and involve tutors, peers, students, and industry providing reviewing, critiquing, checking, and commenting on work. It aims to support student-student, student-teacher, and student-content interactions as well as reflection, collaboration, and assessment of polished work resembling real-world, complex problems to improve learning.
