The author reflects on their teaching practicum experience of teaching English to young learners. They designed lessons to promote meaningful learning through creativity, play, and multimodality. This included using puppets, flashcards, games, songs and stories. The children engaged well and enjoyed the English classes. The author gained insights into scaffolding instruction based on each child's needs and developmental levels. They learned the importance of applying theory to practice and constructing their identity as a teacher. The practicum experience helped the author develop personally and professionally as an educator.
