Learning, for visual-spatial learners,
takes place all at once, with large
chunks of information grasped in
intuitive leaps, rather than in the
gradual accretion of isolated facts,
small steps or habit patterns gained
through practice. For example, they
can learn all of the multiplication facts
as a related set in a chart much easier
and faster than memorizing each fact
independently.

Vark Questionaire
My learning style is Multimodal, according to the VARK questionnaire. While others can effectively learn using any single one of the multiple preferences, I need to have the same material presented in several of the modes in order to really learn it.
According to VARK I am more of a visual learner. It is harder for me to memorize a lot of things at once, so looking at or making my own graphs while studying helps information stick in my brain.
Here are some learning strategies for both Multimodal and Visual learners.
Here are some things that help me with learning. Asking questions, note taking, reading my notes or material out loud, flash cards and studying in general. I also made this graph with Excel from when I took the VARK questionnaire.
These learning styles have helped me a lot in the past and I will continue to be a visual learner. Everything I learn has to be digested through my eyes. I have tried other methods in the past and I learned very quickly those other options were not for me. I need to see diagrams, sketches, flow charts and write down key points from books. Also color-coding when I take notes has helped a lot as well.
This learning style works best for me and will continue to do so for the rest of my life. As long as I study in quiet areas where I don’t get easily distracted, ask a lot of questions and take lots of notes I believe it will help me most with comprehending information.
