First impressions are always used in setting the tone when you first meet someone. Without the
luxury of knowing the persons background, you initially judge someone by the way that person
introduces themselves and how they come across to you. By coming across, I mean the way a
person carries themselves. For example, if the person comes across as shy and introverted, you
tend to think of that person as timid and somewhat weak. However, if that same person comes
across as outgoing, confident (but not to confident) and easy to talk to, you look at that person as
someone you can count on and possibly a leader. This type of evaluation (even though we all do it)
is for the most part not always the right way to evaluate a person.

My first impression on short stories is that they are short and are meant for children to develop their
reading habit. I thought short stories is never a thing for teenagers or adults. The plot is usually
simple and straightforward, there wouldn't be a lot of twists and turns, like a simple children story,

discuss the twisted idea of love. In the story, Austen, the customer is driven by his self–centered love
that neglects the desire of Diana, his crush, he wants to force her into loving him. He wants Diana
to put him as her no.1 priority and live her life around him. And he doesn't realise that he should do
something for Diana as well. This is definitely not the correct way of loving someone as both sides
must put an effort in the relationship so it would last longer, isn't it? We all talk about equality and

As I first walked in, the first thing I paid attention to were all the signs. The signs labeling the
different sections, men's clothings, women's clothing, and the signs that were advertising specific
brands such as Mudd, were all pictures of thin, skinny, tall, white, young, middle–class people. I
started wondering "why is it all white people?" Then, I started pondering deeply. Do people of
color feel left out? As if these clothes are not meant for them, just for white people. What about

In the first situation with John, he was as an extrovert. I noticed he interacted with numerous
people during his trip to purchase stationary. In analyzing my first impression of John, I believe
he was in a good mood and truly enjoyed his day. John chose to speak with an acquaintance in the

Initial Impressions: My first initial impression about Lisa was that, she was a crazy person, a
junkie that needs to be in a locked down facility with a high security placed on her. She looked

For example, we learned that when the Germain army invaded the Polish border, it consisted of
more than 1.25 million soldiers, tanks and bombs. We learned these things by looking at pictures
and reading reliable authors' works. We also learned new techniques using applications we have
never used before (Adobe Voice). At one point, our product had very poor quality audio and it
was hard to understand every word spoken by the narrator. To solve this problem, we decided to
record again, in an isolated space and added subtitles when we thought that a sentence was not
100% clear. We basically learned most of the skills we used in this application by trial and error,
guessing and looking up tutorials on the internet.

The Jewish Holocaust is a big part of the Second World War. Humain rights were violated and an
entire population exterminated because some people forced their prejudices onto the entire
population. Now that this project is over and that we are more informed, we are all convinced that
none of this cruelty would have happened if we had treated eachother as equals. Our video explains
that the war started when the German army violated the polish citizens' rights. This awful part of
history could have never existed if only the soldiers valued justice and equality more then their
blinding

My First Impression of Critical Thinking Class
My first impression when I went to this university was very positive. The person I spoke to just
made me feel completely at home because he said when I started as a mature student and that's what
I wanted to hear.
He asked me about my experience so far and treated it as though it was something important,
something worthwhile talking about and interesting and then he gave me chance to prove myself
although I didn't have the conventional qualifications, to prove myself by doing a written piece of
writing which gave me access to the course.
Quite pleased because I felt I was intelligent enough to get onto a course, intelligent enough but not
educated enough, I didn't have the certificates to prove it and this was my chance to do so....show

Value and experiences, using skills and building your self–esteem. Something I got from training as
an adult trainer was an appreciation of good methods in bringing out what people already have as a
starting point for education. Lectures are obviously pretty much one way but seminars don't have to
be. I was taught to be a facilitator not a teacher with the idea that the group works together towards
a result. The process of doing this is educational. It builds up self–esteem because everyone
contributes – their input is valued. Their previous experiences in life and skills and attributes in
group work come out. There is no time for that here. Seminars are mostly just tutors trying to get
kids to talk about what they've understood from the text of some great intellectual man who's
probably dead now. Perhaps that is just in social science, I don't know.
Social justice, rights, respect, equality and diversity – all these things are central to the objectives in
the voluntary sector. I am sure they are here in the mission statement for the university but the reality
is different. The staff seem to be 100% white. I am on a course which must be about 98% white.
Why aren't people screaming about that? Where are the anti–racism posters around the place? It's as
if no–one wants to stir up agitation for a change. One good thing is
