Bravery Definition
Many things have a clear definition. However, some do not. What is bravery? Is it that you are
willing to physically fight? Is it that you are fearless? To me, bravery is never giving up and
standing up for what you believe in despite whatever the circumstances.
Giving up is quite easy. Once one little thing goes wrong, many people decide to take the easy way
out and quit. One person who shows great bravery in this sense is my mother. When she was young,
her father had a stroke and his right side of his body became paralyzed. She was about 7 when her
father passed away. She wanted to stay with her immediate family, but she was forced to go live
with her aunt until about when she was 17 when she moved to Nuevo Laredo, with no help, to study.

Bravery You're walking down the street, coming home from school, and all of a sudden you hear
a shrill voice calling "Help! Help!" You run toward the voice and when you run about a block up
the street you smell smoke. You look up and see a house totally engulfed in flames. You see a
woman on the lawn of the burning building crying, "Help! Help! My baby's inside!" "Inside the
burning building?" you ask. The woman nods her head up and down. You tell her not to worry, that
you'll save her baby. You run inside. Heat surrounds you. Your eyes sting and you can hardly
breathe with all of the smoke, but you keep progressing because you know that you've got to save
that baby. You make your way up the stairs, flames jumping at you

At the beginning of the play the murderer, who happens to be the narrator, tells how he went
about murdering a man with an "evil vulture eye." He insists that he was really only destroying
the eye, that he only killed the man to rid himself of the dreaded gaping eyeball that had been
haunting him. So, the way that I see it is that the narrator is trying to convince himself that he
was brave enough to finally rid himself of the haunting eye that he may have been genuinely
afraid of. What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the word brave? Do you
think about a superhero, or maybe a soldier that fights for our country? Bravery is the ability to
face danger, fear or pain. Bravery is the quality of a person who displays courage and fearlessness
in the face of danger. Such qualities show splendor and magnificence in a person. Fear and terror
sometimes hinder the determination someone can show. Overcoming this fear is what portrays
bravery. The boldest of individuals is the one who abides by his or her conscience. In Night the
main character Ellie Weisel whom is also the author went through a dreadful struggle in a
concentration camp. Through all the hardships, he obeyed his conscience and never abandoned his
dad and he also managed to maintain his faith. In To Kill a Mocking bird by Harper Lee a different
type of bravery is shown, Scout and Jem have to face a town that thinks their

To get to these amazing innovations such as electricity, code breaking, and equality, a risk of
humiliation, and fear was needed to overcome: hence the word bravery. Whether it may be simply
trying a new foreign food or dictating a new set of thinking to an entire country, bravery is the
reason why I am eager to try new things and fearless to stand for whats morally incorrect. Bravery
personally started from walking to the train to and from school everyday to show other young girls
that these streets can be made safe with alertness and dignity to oneself. The committee belongs to
everyone and with young girls and mothers seeing me walk on the street with nothing bad
happening i hope to change the perception of what my neighborhood's reputation is to a safe,

For instance in times like these were the threat of separation and disrespect shown towards
women and immigrants, fear is in the air. Advocating and speaking up for respect and rights of
minorities by attending conferences and respectfully confronting officials and exercising my right
to peacefully protest. These actions, while brain storming solutions towards a better future for all
will lead to prosperity and safety for my people to follow their own goals and inspire others to speak
up for what is wrong and combine minds to fight for moral solutions that will lead to a renaissance
of new ideas and a just, respectful

When I was Brave
Everyone has done something that they feel is brave. For some people is might be picking up a
spider because your friend is allergic to them, other people might find it to be brave if you tell
your teacher that you cheated on a test. Bravery comes in many ways but is still the same thing.
Bravery is not when you are fearless but it is when you have to guts and mental strength to
overcome those fears. However bravery should not be confused with an absence of common
sense. Bravery is when you might have to jump of a cliff with no parachute to save someone.
However jumping of a cliff with no safety equipment for fun shows a lack of common sense.
Bravery is not to ignore fear but to crush it, and this essay is a story of how I conquered mine.
This event had occurred about three and a half years ago when I had just joined Boy–Scouts. I was
just ten years old and I was in the middle of my fifth grade summer vacation. At that time I had gone
a campout or a day–hike almost every week. We had to many locations such as Mission Peak,
Mount Diablo,
Yosemite National park, Pinnacles, and many other beautiful campsites. But, one time we had
gone to a new place for a small backpacking hike and to camp over the night. I was very excited and
had packed carefully for the spring weather. When the day had finally come I had eagerly gone to
the Mission Valley School, and from there we drove to the campsite. Unfortunately the parking lot
was full so it was blocked. Because of the block we had to

Bravery: A Thematic Analysis
Bravery perfectly describes the theme of this book. Throughout the story our characters are
constantly tested by mortality and fear. Beatrice learnt that life is not easy real quick after having
to live with the guilt of killing her own best friend and having to make various other sacrifices
while experiences tons upon tons of more loss and danger. I can apply this to my life by not taking
things for granted. Everyone experiences loss, fear and other sad things but its important to
appreciate what we have and to think rationally when we get into a sticky situation.

Bravery Definition Essay
Bravery is when you show that you're not afraid to do something. There is a lot of ways that
courage can be demonstrated. For example, getting into a huge and scary roller coaster while no one
else wants to. Well, that's one example.
In my own words, bravery is the quality of a person who displays courage and fearlessness in the
face of danger. Such qualities and magnificence in a person, fear, and terror sometimes create
difficulties in the determination that someone can show. That's what I think that bravery means but
some people can take it or understand it in a very different way. One day I was in school, and the
teacher said: "who wants to go and present their test." No one wanted to stand up. I was brave
enough to say "I will go."

Personal Narrative: Bravery
On January 3, 2009 around 11:00 PM the phone rang with what I thought was exciting news about
my newly born sister, Tristyn ,but quickly turned to horror. I could heard the fright in my dad's
shaken voice as he told me Tristyn had to go into immediate heart surgery because she needed a
stent to open up the blood flow to her heart. Being eight at the time the only thing I could think
about was how she might not make it. My dad said to me "look after your sisters, and tell them
nothing about the surgery", which terrified me more than before. I knew I needed to be brave and
take charge of the situations for my sisters. Bravery is something I learned for a situation I never
knew would happen.
