The document summarizes the filming session for a music video. Clips were captured of props to set the scene at the beginning. Close up shots were taken of the artist lip syncing from different angles to keep viewers engaged and promote the artist. Extreme close ups of the artist's face and mouth were taken to show expression and sync with the music. Mid shots showed poses and actions. A shot of the artist laying on a table and rotating was planned to create an interesting effect. Shots matching song lyrics about months were taken. Scenes portraying the artist with a dual personality through both cute and creepy images were captured.

Hadj Ounis's most notable work is his sculpture titled "Metamorphosis." This piece showcases Ounis's mastery of form and texture, as he seamlessly combines metal and wood to create a dynamic and visually striking composition. The juxtaposition of the two materials creates a sense of tension and harmony, inviting viewers to contemplate the relationship between nature and industry.
2. SHOTS OF PROPS
I plan to edit short clips of the props used within my video for the
instrumental part at the beginning of the song. I will be editing them to
the beat and believe that by making them being the first things the
audience will see within my video it will really set the mise en scene of
the video and the tea
party theme. Also by not showing my artist instantly it will create a
mysterious vibe around the video and be more engaging to the viewer
by making them want to find out more.
I also shot a short clip of a sheet with the title of my music video wrote on it. I believe this
was an interesting technique to place the name of the song within my video. My artist will
be holding this sheet on the front of my digipak therefore this will create a link between
my print work and music video. I also like how the props are surrounding the sheet,
keeping the cute tea party look continuous and making an iconic style for my artist.
3. CLOSE UP SHOTS OF ARTIST LIP-SYNCING
I captured shots of
my artist at different
angles such as the
side view shot
shown to the left. I
did this so I could
edit many edit
different shots
together of my
artist from different
angles to make my
video engaging to
the audience and
keep their eyes on
the screen.
To make sure that my artist is the main focus of my music video, I
have filmed many close up shots of her face at different angles
whilst she was lip syncing. I believe this will make sure her style is
being represented within my video and promoting her as an artist.
The music video “Primadonna” which I analysed previously was the
inspiration for this idea as within the music video there are many
close-ups of the artist, Marina either lip syncing or posing/pulling
facial expressions in a way that represent her individual style. This is a
marketing technique used by the record label to promote the artist
and is used in many videos e.g “Dollhouse” Melanie Martinez,
another music video I have analysed previously.
The shot shown to the
right is an extreme
close up shot of my
artist lip syncing to the
music. I did this so her
facial expression could
be seen clearly. In the
still image to the right,
my artist pulled sinister
facial expressions
during the instrumental
parts of the song, this
will allow the audience
to see the strange and
slightly crazy character
she is portraying within
the video and
understand the
concept.
I also took a high angle shot of
my artist lip syncing to add
more of a variety of camera
angles into my music video.
I took many more shots than
shown within this presentation
but the ones shown here are
some of the main ones to give
an idea of the type of clips I
captured during my filming
session.
4. One of my favourite shots that I
captured was an extreme close up of
my artist’s mouth lip syncing. I had
planned to do this in my storyboard
and was overall very happy with the
result. I believe it will work very well in
various parts of my music video. I
would like to sync the first lyrics of the
chorus to this clip as I think it would be
an effective and interesting way to
begin the music video. It will mean my
artist will not be shown fully until after
the sequence of showing the props
during the instrumental and after the
extreme close up of her mouth. This will
create mystery and curiousity for the
audience to find out more about the
artist and see what is happening in the
video.
5. MID SHOTS OF ARTIST
I captured some mid shots of my artist to show her styling, poses and
actions to represent her to the audience and for them to see what is
happening in the video. Mid shots also show the artist with the props
in the video which will create mise en scene and styling to the video. I
especially like the high angle shot (shown above) of my artist lip
syncing whilst laying on the table. I took this shot so that the video was
horizontal, I plan to rotate this clip each time I use it in the video to
create an interesting effect. It is a completely different shot to my
other clips and therefore I thought that it would be interesting to
incorporate within my music video.
6. Lyrics matching the visuals
My video is mainly interpretive however during the chorus where my artist sings
“January to December” the visuals are a literal representation of the lyrics. For
example when my artist sings the word “January”, I will show a shot of her posing
with the calendar on the month January and then when she says “December “ I
will show her posing with calendar on the month December. I also captured
some shots of the calendar without my artist posing with it to add more variety
and have a different shot for every chorus rather than just repeating the clips of
her with the calendar.
7. CREATING THE CHARACTER OF MY
ARTIST AND MOOD OF MY MUSIC
VIDEO
I have captured scenes such as the ones
shown here of my artist pulling a dolls head
off to represent my artist as being alternative
as well as giving my video a slightly creepy
vibe. My artist is dressed quite cute and
innocent within the video so to show her
being controversial and strange will portray
two sides to her personality. A sweet side and
a dark side. I think this is an interesting idea to
incorporate into my video rather than it just
being a plain happy and cute video with no
depth to the concept.
