There is no music, only dialogue that gives viewers an idea of what to expect without revealing details. Close-up shots of the main character are used to show his emotions and introduce the actor who will play a central role.

1. ‘71
The movie 71 is my first film opening. The opening shows a group of men that are training in
an army camp.
The colours throughout the 2 minutes are dark and camo army colours. Everything within
the screen is green related fir example when they are in the forest the uniforms beds and
buildings are a green related colour. The colour scheme all fits in with the idea of the movie
which seems to be war. The is no music in the opening only dialogue. The dialogue gives the
audience and brief outline of what the will be expecting in the movie. This is good as it is
telling the audience what kind of movie they are about to watch however not giving away
key elements of the movie there for making the watcher want to carry on watching the rest
of the movie. Drama is a large category however the opening does show that the movie will
be drama related as it is about war which includes fighting and violence.
The shot types throughout the two minutes are mostly close ups of the main character to
show the emotion and to make sure the audience knows what actor will be playing a main
part in the movie. Also having close ups on the main character in this opening shows them
what he looks like what he emotions are and facial expressions. I will be planning a lot of
close up shots with in my own opening making sure that they know what will be the one
involved in the drama.
