My chosen genre
- 2. Why? • I am interested in fashion photography as I think a lot about appearance. I like look at and experiment with different hair styles and different looks using make-up and clothes. • I haven’t done this kind of genre before, but because I like different styles I thought this would be a good idea considering I am very interested in this type of industry.
- 3. Artists that have influenced me • Ross Kirton Ross’s imagery focuses mainly on he women's clothing, This can show different attitudes and styles of each women in the image, For example the women on the right looks quite rich and wealthy. Marco Tenelia Marco’s imagery is in black and white only, I like the idea of this because I think black and white allows you to look deeper into the image and see more emotion. Marco also uses opposite backgrounds to the women's outfits, for example having a white background with the women in black could mean she is quite dark and evil, however if the women is wearing white she may come across as innocent. - 4. Alec Soth • Alec Soth looks more at older people, rather than young teens. In one of alec’s images he has taken a picture of a women who looks quite wealthy and is wearing a nice expensive outfit, and also has her hair pinned up nice, however when you look deeper into the image the background doesn’t look that nice. • Alec also makes his images look quite normal and natural, for example he has taken a picture of a women getting out of a car.
- 5. Images I have taken For my image of the prom dress I have been inspired by Ross Kirton as he looks a lot at the models outfit, I am also using black and white like the artist Marco Tenelia. I will now look at some more artists to think of more ideas, Emily said I should get the model to do more abstract poses so I will also start to think off different posses my model can do.
